 Warranty Information

The Wiggy's sleeping bag guarantee is for a lifetime of use. If a seam opens or the Lamilite insulation deteriorates (such as losing its loft or separating, clumping in one place or another), Wiggy’s will repair or replace your bag at no charge. However, we reserve the right to examine any returned sleeping bag and will make the decision whether the return is justified depending on the appearance of the bag, demonstrating whether it has been properly cared for or shows signs of abuse.

 Product Description

The Hunter Ultra Light sleeping bag is a + 20° F (approximately 0° C) rectangular style bag designed without a hood.

The bag is made with a 118" #10 YKK molded tooth heavy-duty zipper which runs from the upper right corner to the lower left corner of the bag. When fully unzipped, this sleeping bag can lay flat like a blanket or be used to "mate" to another Wiggy's Hunter (rectangular) style sleeping bag with matching 118" zipper. The mated bags can then be used for couples camping, or if in an emergency situation, for shared body heat.

To mate the bags, unzip both bags completely and place one bag on the bottom (lining facing up) and one bag on the top (lining facing down). Then simply zip both bags together.

Product Testimonials

  1. The Temperature Rating Is Conservative

Just took this bag out on a camping trip during a freeze advisory where the temperature dropped to 27° F (cold for North Carolina in April). I was hot in this bag wearing Wiggy's Insulated Head Cover and a very light athletic shirt and pair of pants. Based on this trip I'm sure the bag would be comfortable far below the 20° F rating. Can't wait to test it out in winter while wearing a true base layer.

  2. Unmatched Quality

I'm new to Wiggy's products but can say without a doubt that I've never seen another manufacturer match the quality of components or construction of these sleeping bags. I have a Hunter Ultra Light bag and it's the most comfortable and well constructed bag I've ever seen. I opted for a standard, unhooded model but even at 5' 10" I can turn this bag into a cocoon with the built-in top cinch cord. From the design and materials to the expert stitching (absolutely amazing) this thing is quality. I look forward to using this bag for many years.

  3. Yeah, durable.

The blue bag was my second Wiggy product, in 2000. They are pretty much bomb proof. This bag has been run over by a car. Twice. The first hit split the stuff bag. The second round was won by the the Ultralight in a decision. Both the car and the bag had damage, but the bag was able to complete it's trip without help. The car was not. I should probably send the bag in to have the rip in the cover repaired, but after 8 years the insulation looks fine. I only think of it when I'm using it, and I wouldn't give it up then. Or when I'm washing it, and worried that the rip might spread in to the lamilite insulation. Maybe the next time I go through Colorado....
You get what you pay for.

  4. A great bag for indoor and outdoor use

I was recently in Maine and the temperature at night got into the high 40s. While this bag is rated for lower temps, I was extremely comfortable. There were no overheating issues.

This is the third bag that I have purchased from the fine folks at Wiggy's and I strongly recommend all of their products.

  5. 200 washes and about 4,000 stuffings

“Not sure if Wiggy’s hates me or will love me. Hate me because I am such a bad customer: Love me because why I am."

“I started a kayak tour company in 1988 and because I had bought bags from Jerry Wigutow’s previous company, I ordered 12 Wiggy’s 20 degree bags. Twenty years of use, 10 trips a year at least, washed after every trip = at least 200 washes and about 4,000 stuffing into compression stuff sacks. Makes me tired to think about it, usually my last packing task. The only damage to ANY of these bags is from a too-hot dryer that scalded the nylon off part of a bag. Most of the time they were line dried. They look used, which is fair, (sun from the line drying a part) and I thought about replacing just for a fresh look, but decided they did the job perfectly well."

“Every zipper works great, loft is better than new, the bags are awesome. I feel guilty to have been a one-time customer of Wiggy’s, but when you make a lifetime product, you only need one.” – Bardy Jones

Pretty much out of the outdoor business, but those bags I bought back in 1988 are mine and my son’s Boy Scout and kayak camping bags.

  6. two lifetimes of use

I don't write many product reviews, but I am uniquely qualified to write this one: In November of 1994 I rolled my 1968 Bronco on black ice on a winding stretch of Highway 12 paralleling the Clearwater River in Idaho. In that accident I suffered a severe back injury--so severe that the chiropractor that took the x-rays commented that he was surprised that I hadn't severed my spinal cord. Because of the injury, despite the best efforts of the doctors and chiropractors I've been unable to sleep in a bed for the past 11 years. (Any bed is too soft and causes muscle spasms.) Since December of 1994, I've spent virtually every night sleeping on a carpeted floor in a Wiggy's Hunter Flexible Temperature Range Sleep System (FTRSS) sleeping bag. It is a two bag sleep system with two different weight bags that can be used together or separately. I spend roughly 8 months out of each year in the light weight bag, and 4 months in the heavy weight bag.) I've slept for more than 4,000 nights in that FTRSS--that is the equivalent of two lifetimes of heavy recreational use for a sleeping bag. (Here is the math: An intensive recreational user probably camps out about 35 nights per year, multiplied by 50 years of camping equals 1,750 nights. Hence, two lifetimes for a bag would be roughly 3,500 nights.) Since 1994, I have spent approximately 4,000 nights--including about 250 nights in the field--in my FTRSS. Again, that is something in excess of two lifetimes worth of use.

The FTRSS has been very comfortable and exceptionally durable. The bag has had zero zipper failures, and no rips or tears. Most importantly, is has never lost its loft or had its filling get clumped or re-arranged, despite countless machine washings. (I should have kept track of the number of times that I've washed it!) I highly recommend Wiggy's brand sleeping bags. The FTRSS models in particular are ideally suited for anyone that expects to give a sleeping bag demanding use. OBTW, I should mention that I have not been compensated in any way for making this endorsement. I'm just a very satisfied customer. If you want the best, buy yourself a Wiggy's bag!
