Product Testimonials

  1. Comfy in Yellowstone

I work in the summer as an emergency firefighter out west. I was in West Yellowstone, Montana at a base camp at about 7,000 feet elevation. My old sleeping bag could not it the mustard so I ordered the Super Light zero degree bag. When it arrived I immediately noticed that it appeared to be very well constructed. The insulation was nice and thick and well distributed. The outer cloth is hansome and rugged looking. The bag has a heavy duty zipper and a draw string at the top of the bag.

I have slept several nights in the bag and it is very comfortable. The temperature was not real cold (twenty's) but the bag kept me warm and comfortable. I would definitely recommend this bag for three season use.

  2. Canadian Armed Forces Winter Warfare Success!

I returned from a four day exercise in a training area known for its cold and unforgiving terrain. I wanted to find out if the Wiggy's super lite could stand up to Canadian winter warfare conditions. I slept in a two man camo tent made of nylon with a plastic bottom liner, no insulation or liner was used. I used a self inflating mattress 3/4 inch thick on the plastic liner as the base layer on the snow and ice followed by my sleeping system. The sleeping system consisted of the standard issue Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) cotton sleeping bag liner, the same one they have been using for fifty years, an ACU pattern fleece wrap, the Olive drab Super lite 0 F and the CAF issue bivy bag (Gortex over bag for water proofing). This I felt would allow me to test specifically the sleeping bag as I knew the other items used and the lack of heat in the tent would not interfere with the insulation in the bag once the temp dropped to -19 C, almost at the limit of the bag. Other than the fact that I did not want to get out of the bag in the morning due to the inability to heat the tent, I suffered no issues with the sleeping bag. I survived and will recommend and have recommended this bag to everyone in my unit thus far. One factor that needs stating, is the absolute requirement for a liner if this bag is used in extreme cold weather. Use a cotton or fleece liner, not silk or nylon as the interior of the bag upon entry in temps below 0 C is very cold, this lasts a very short time but is uncomfortable and can be avoided with the right liner. The use of a face scarf or moisture shield is also recommended as the buildup of frost on the hood opening caused uncomfortable buildup of frost and moisture in this environment.

Thanks for making a great bag, I will be buying more for different environments.

I ALWAYS APPRECIATE RECEIVING UNSOLICITED COMMENTS FROM MY CUSTOMERS. THE ONLY THING I DO DISAGREE WITH IS THE USE OF A LINER. IN EXTREME CONDITIONS HE SHOULD HAVE HAD MY OVER BAG.
