Another Bogus Insulation...

Thermore® Brings You FREEDOM And Is Now PETA Approved Vegan

July 12, 2017

MILAN, Italy — July 12, 2017 — In recent times, there has been a shift in the mentality of what outerwear is supposed to do. The consumers have plenty of jackets that keep them warm — what they desire now is something more functional — a more specialized garment that keeps them comfortable.

"Based upon what one reads in this first paragraph if you are warm you are not comfortable. But as you will see this company makes a insulation that does keep you comfortable, but not warm. Sounds like a contradiction to me!"

According to the English dictionary, “comfort” is defined as “a state of physical ease and freedom from pain or constraint.” So, what is more comfortable than a garment that continuously moves and adapts around your body?

"So if you are warm you may be in pain, however the pain is alleviated if you are comfortable but not necessarily warm. I believe if you are not warm you will experience pain. Is the garment made with their insulation alive? It is chopped staple polyester fiber."

Imagine if you could be warm wearing something as comfy as those stretch jeans or yoga pants that adapt to your body and the activity at hand? Thermore now introduces Thermore® Freedom, a new type of synthetic thermal insulation designed for what consumers expect from their outerwear in modern times. A product that will stretch and move as much as they need it to — up to 40%!. Four different levels of performance guarantee that you’re ready for anything.

"Here we are being sold a bill of goods about their product. While I have not seen this particular product I do know that ALL polyester fiberfill stretches when it has pressure applied to it and the stretch will be in all directions. It will also decrease in loft in the areas that the pressure is applied. As for 40 percent stretch, that is a stretch. If you have a section that is 10 inches long and is ½ inch thick, when stretched to 14 inches if it does not tear it will be maybe a ¼ inch thick. Loss of loft means loss of insulation. Don’t they know that will be the outcome? If not what did they observe when they stretched the material to come up with the 40 percent number?

If an insulated jacket is made correctly it is sized to keep the insulation at its maximum so it will “freely” allow you to move in the garment without being restricted. You could say that you have FREEDOM of movement."

And that’s not all. PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) has recently certified all Thermore products as being Vegan approved. This goes hand in hand with Thermore’s ongoing commitment to conserving resources, while providing products in the most ethical and humanistic manner to performance loving consumers. Feeling good, and feeling good about their choices.

"To the best of my knowledge all Thermore makes are polyester fiberfill products, so that makes peta happy since the Thermore people don’t abuse animals. Do vegans eat their products? I doubt very much but that the owners of Thermore would love to sell more and more polyester batting than they do now and not even consider conserving. The only thing they would feel good about is an increase in sales."

"I have no idea how much of their business is selling polyester fiberfill batting to companies that use it for insulation in jackets because I never see an advertisements of their fiberfill in any jackets. Also, I have never seen any advertisements in consumer publication printed or on the internet for their products. They are appealing to companies that market outerwear who have learned that all of the chopped staple polyester fiberfill they want is available at very cheap prices in Asia. Then the company gives it their own name."

Just one more company basically offering a synthetic form of insulation that is obsolete!
