The other day a local police officer was at Wiggy’s. I noted his black boots and told him that I now had them. He asked the price; $185.00 I said plus you get a pair of Lamilite socks. I then proceeded to give him all of the information and temperature capability. He said the price was very good and was impressed with the performance capability. He then showed me the soles of his present boot being worn down and would shortly need a new pair of boots. At this point I told him if he had the Wiggy’s boot when the sole wore all he would have to do is get them resoled. That struck a chord with him versus spending another $185.00 or more for a new pair.

The boots he was wearing just like 95% of boot wearers had a molded sole which once worn regardless of how good condition the upper of the boot is you throw them away. The reason you throw them away is because they cannot be re-soled. You can think that all of the shoe companies have conspired to make boots in this manner so they can sell more boots. I do not believe they ever got together for this purpose. When one company started to do this the rest followed like lemming going off of the cliff into the sea. The profit motive and planned obsolescence is my opinion. I also believe they do know that sewn on soles as my boots are make a better more comfortable fit. I also believe they are sturdier than molded soles could ever be.

Therefore, if you work in law enforcement and want a better boot Wiggy’s is the way to go.

NEW THREE SEASON SLEEPING BAG FOR THE MILITARY

Several years ago the Marines came out with a new center zippered sleeping bag. Recently a pre-solicitation notice appeared for this same bag for the overall military. I couldn’t be more delighted because I have been making this model bag since the initial bag entered into the system. I have sold many of them to small units of all branches of the military.

While reviewing the pre-solicitation notice showing the requirements I was very pleased to see that the exterior fabric is coyote and the lining is o.d., black or urban grey all colors that I have in stock since I use these colors all the time, have for years.

The bivi cover appears in the pictures to be coyote which I have also been making for many years.

The insulation used in the bag is continuous filament fiber, brand names cannot be used, but of course the only continuous filament fiber is Climashield which I use to make the Lamilite.
