Fossil Ridge Parka

 Product Description

OutDoorsMen! If You Are Proud Of Your Gear And You Strive For The Best Equipment, You Found Your Jacket!

The exterior fabric is called Novasued, and it is 100% nylon. You will think it is suede. It is unaffected by temperature, it is highly wind resistant and water repellent treated. In addition, since it is used for furniture, it is fire retardant treated as well. A hunter needs to dress in garments that are quiet as possible, the Novasued is as noiseless a fabric as can be made. At 30 degrees below 0 it is as soft and pliable as it is at 75 degrees above 0. Hold the fabric in front of your face when the wind is blowing 25/30 knots and you can hardly feel wind penetration. When it gets dirty, wash it in your own washing machine. It can also be dry cleaned. The insulation is Lamilite.

The Fossil Ridge Parka is actually five garments that are interchangeable depending upon the season you are hunting. The first part of this system is the outer shell garment. It is completely lined with 70-denier nylon taffeta, the same fabric I use for the sleeping bags. For closure, I use the #10 YKK molded tooth zipper, which has proven to be the strongest zipper available, as I can attest to the fact they have never failed to perform on all the sleeing bags and parkas I have produced since 1989. The features of this garment include cargo/hand warmer pockets, draw cord at the waist, snaps to close the draft flap over the zipper, as well as to close the pockets and the cuffs. There is a back pocket that is simiar to a game pocket, but its purpose is for storage, such as the hood or one of the liners. There is a detachable hood with a zip in insulated liner. The hood attaches to a flap behind the collar with snaps. It is positioned so the metal snaps simply can not touch the skin surface of your neck. On the inside you will find a zipper closure pocket, suitable for a wallet. There are two breast pockets with elastic cartidge holders. The elastic is sewn to the front of the pockets. When you open the pockets, the weight of the cartridges falls forward allowing for easy removal.

L-6 & L-12 Liners Included, Plus A Detachable Hood!

The shell garment can be worn very comfortably during bow season, when the temperatures generally stay above 40 degrees. There are two zip in liners. Liner #1 is insulated with Lamilite 6. You will find the L-6 in our sweater and vest; you can use liner #1 when the termperature gets as low as 9 degrees. Hence, you could hunt second season in Colorado. Liner #2 is the same weight of Lamilite (L-12) that is used in the Antarctic Parka. Therefore, it would be suitable for the third season when the temperatures often go to 10 below or colder. Each of these garments can be worn by themselves.
