 Warranty Information

The Wiggy's sleeping bag guarantee is for a lifetime of use. If a seam opens or the Lamilite insulation deteriorates (such as losing its loft or separating, clumping in one place or another), Wiggy’s will repair or replace your bag at no charge. However, we reserve the right to examine any returned sleeping bag and will make the decision whether the return is justified depending on the appearance of the bag, demonstrating whether it has been properly cared for or shows signs of abuse.

 Product Description

The Hunter Antarctic Bag with Hood is a -60° F rated rectangular style bag. Along with my other Antarctic bags, I believe this is the only -60° F bag in the world. The size of the bag is 36 inches wide and 92 inches long (weight: ~8.5 lbs). When the Nautilus with Hood Overbag is added, the temperature rating is -80° F. When both bags are combined you have the Hunter FTRSS.

This bag also comes with a choice of three zippers; all zippers are made from a #10 YKK molded tooth zipper. When mated, the bags can then be used for couples camping, or if in an emergency situation, for shared body heat.

  • Standard Zipper: A full 118" zipper that extends down the side and across the bottom of the bag (comes standard on all Wiggy's rectangular sleeping bags). This allows the bag to be fully unzipped on the side & bottom so that you can spread the bag out like a comforter. Two bags with 118" zippers can be 'mated' by unzipping both bags completely and placing one bag on the bottom (lining facing up) and one bag on the top (lining facing down). Then zip both bags together.

*Note: Mating two Hunter model sleeping bags with hoods together will result with one person having the hood under their head and the second having the hood in their face.

  • 65" Side Zipper: Available on either the right or left side of the bag. This allows one right-zip & one left-zip bag to be mated together in traditional fashion, like our mummy-style bags.

Product Testimonials

  1. Best bag on the planet

I have been hunting in Alaska for 45 years. I have tried all the fancy brands, all the lightweight insulations. This is the only bag I will use now. I bought it for survival bag only for my plane because of the weight - but after being in cold, wet weather one time with it, I will never use anything else. Humid, wet, freezing temps, it doesn't matter. I stayed away because of the price for years, even after my friends told me how good it is, that was poor judgement.
All the cold wet nights, shivering all night and exhausted the next day. I was a fool.
    Best money I ever spent.

  2. Great bag to have for all seasons particularly for the those not acclimated to the cold.

I lay on top of it in the summer for extra padding, unzip it and use it like a comforter if it’s a little cold at night and I will just zip up about a 1/4 of the way when it gets around freezing. Colder than that and it is all the way in the bag for me (I get cold easy) but there is still plenty of room to lay on your side or keep your legs from touching. It is nice to be warm and have a little freedom of movement. The bag is super durable and you can tell that it is meant to last a lifetime just by the thickness of materials, size of the zipper, and quality of the stitching. The fact that it can be washed after every use is seriously underrated, wash any other bag and it falls apart, smells funny, and clumps. Just ordered a comforter for my bed that will probably end up camping as well, because you can machine wash it!

  3. thank you

The hunter Antarctic ftrss is amazing :)
I've spent most of my life freezing in so called top of the line bags.
A friend in Whitehorse Yukon introduced me to his. I was in love :) with the bag not him :)
At 5'6' and 130lbs, i'm not a huge woman and had lots of room to move.
After referring the hunter to another friend (he is a trapper), I finally got my own.
This winter it dipped down to a cool -60*F. So I took my bag out to the yard to test it, and i slept like a baby all night in the snow bank under the northern lights :)
Thank you for a great product

  4. Reply to Maiden Voyage

Re: "cool" feet and stuff sack problems:

Our family has 4 Ultima Thules with overbags.

Though a tad lighter than the Artic, the Thule is pretty hefty.

If I roll it up and then try to stuff it into the sack it's a no-go.

I've read all the testimonials on this site and came upon the suggestion to show it who's boss and just jam it in.

    IT WORKS!

Doesn't hurt the sleeping bag at all.

Lamilite is amazing - it springs back and performs perfectly. Try that with any other bag!

For cool feet there is nothing more comfy than Wiggy's Booties or Sunwalkers.

    They're a mini-bag for your feet.

You can even wear them around your camp site.

We set our thermostat down in the evening. Our floors get COLD!

We I get home from work I slip bare feet into Wiggy's Booties and they are perfectly warm until bedtime.

    Hope this helps.

  5. maiden voyage

I ordered two antarctic hunters for my son and I as he endeavors in his scouting career. Looking for a bag that would keep him warm and his mother from worrying, also keeping in mind the warranty offered and the abuse a kid can dish out on zippers, etc. Our Troop camps every month regardless of the weather. Being an avid outdoorsman, I have owned just about every sleeping bag on the market. None are ever rated correctly. Military surplus to ultralight down mummy bags. But the older you get, the less you want to be cramped inside a cacoon for a night of tossing and turning. I searched and searched everything on line and in the stores for a bag that would live up to its rating and still have comfort for a 215 lb man.

Enter the Wiggy's antarctic hunter. My kids unpacked the bags while I was at work, sprawled them on the living room floor and sent me a pic with them inside. But not till I got home did I see how mammoth these bags are. My first thought was, "holy s×!t, these are huge". I was pleased to see how large they were and was looking forward to a real good night's sleep in the upcoming weekend boyscout campout that was expected to be below zero. The pillow was a nice touch but was a bit disappointed in the stuff sack. I tried in vain to get that bad boy in there to no avail. Finally, I went down and grabbed a couple of surplus military flight crew bags and they almost didn't fit.

Winter camping. No matter how good a bag is, if you don't protect your self from the ground you will be cold. So starting out, I always put down a cheap, closed cell foam pad from walmart, then on top, I place my cabelas 3" thick, monster huge, self inflating pad. Then on top of that went the Wiggy's bag. 2 bags darn near filled my 4 person timberline tent. I kid you not they have close to 8" of loft.

The first night was about 4 above, I noticed that the only part that was cool, not cold, was my feet. The capacity of the foot box is so big that it is hard to heat with your feet. I wore a thin, cotton boot sock and lightweight long johns and my torso was borderline sweating. The next night Temps reached down to -8. My 11 year old son actually taught me something, put cheap handwarmers in your socks. I was always too tough for handwarmers, but I'm not now. Worked like a charm. Still completely warm at -8, plus warm toes. I collected a bunch of frost from breathing out of the bag but the drawcord hood keeps the pillow from sliding out from under your head.

My overall rating for this bag, 4.5 out of 5, due to maybe a slightly oversized and under insulated foot box, and a stuff sack that is a no go even at home where it was warm and controlled. Can't imagine trying to stuff it when cold. Going to try and swap it into a 3 piece military surplus stuff sack. The zipper and side baffle, awesome. Loft, warmth, room to roam, "A+". Maybe taper the footed and add a bit of insulation but for the money, it's awesome.

    Nice job wiggy's
