The Aerogami jacket is breathable performance gear with on-demand ventilation.
THERE IS NO SUCH WORD AS “AEROGAMI”. Therefore, the jacket cannot be “breathable performance gear with on-demand ventilation”.
[shades of gore with their waterproof breathable non-sense].
NIKE has introduced a jacket equipped with automatic air venting technology that closes and opens to keep runners warm and cool as they jog.
Is this possible? NO!!!
The company’s “Aerogami” has air vents that appear as creases and folds across the smart jacket where tiny, winged vents open when sweat builds against the runner’s skin, allowing better airflow for sweat to escape. When their body cools down and sweat dries, the vents close.
The folds are created by sewing to face down like shingles so rain doesn’t go into them which it would if they were reversed to appear as chimneys. These “tiny, winged vents open with in the air vents” miraculously “when sweat builds against the runner’s skin”. This allows another miraculous action to take place “allowing better airflow for sweat to escape”. The last sentence is mind blowing. Yes, when you stop running you will begin to cool down and you sweat will dry, but will the vents close or simply flatten against your body? Probably.

the technology is made possible via moisture-reactive film applied to the vents that autonomously contracts and expands when it senses sweat against the body. The air vent system is placed across the chest and back of the jacket, two of the areas where runners heat up and sweat most, the company says.
Now we know where they got the idea to create air vents and the contraction twos the come up with aerogami. Do flowers or animals have these folds to star warm and dry?
I am at a loss for knowing of a moisture-reactive film. But we now know the miracle of miracles that goes to work in this jacket. This action is absolutely mind blowing. The vent openings is at the bottom of the folds so the air movement with the sweat goes down and then up and out. INCREDIBLE!!!
Informed by testing in the Nike Sport Research Lab (NSRL) environmental chambers and data visualization from runners’ heat and sweat maps, the vent placement varies between the women’s and men’s jackets to accommodate gender-specific needs. The jacket also features the company’s Storm-FIT ADV technology to help protect runners from wind and rain.
This is the first time I have known that nike has a research lab. This is the first time in the 60 years I have worked in the industry to learn there are heat and sweat “maps”. That just like all of the rest of what is contained in the paragraph is gibberish.
The technology was created by scientists and innovators from the Nike Explore Team (NXT) and the Nike Sport Research Lab (NSRL).
This is hocussed pokes it is not science and while they may have created something using a film the end result is not going to work any better than goretex which we know doesn’t work.
Companies grow to exorbitant sizes and as such they think they can do no wrong and can create things out of thin air.
Back in the 1960’s companies that made golf jackets with a mesh that was placed in the back of the jacket with a flap to allow sweat out never worked and what nike has created will not work.
