POWER FILL SAMPLES HAVE ARRIVED

I have to believe there is money to be made selling insulating materials to companies that make outerwear. Seeing what the Polartec Company is introducing into the market place gives me pause to believe that when they die just like all of the rest of the people who have companies that promote their so called insulating materials a baseball bat will be necessary to beat their galls to death.

This week I will film a video to be published on my U-Tube channel exposing what they at Polartec are offering to companies that market insulated garments.

The folder that contains the 12 inch square cuts of each of the 4 different weights states and I quote; “MAXIMUM WARMTH- SUSTAINABLE COMFORT IN COLD CONDITIONS”. So I wrote the following to Tommy “Tommy,

I see that you have on the sample swatch folders the statement “comfort in cold conditions”. What are the cold condition temperatures that are being referred too?

Here is his response; “

Hi Jerry,

We do not specify particular temperatures; this is just a standard statement.

Tommy

So I wrote the following: Tommy,

I have a problem! I give a temperature guide to my customers; actual or potential.

I know you sent to me clo ratings but they are meaningless unless I can put an F temp to them.

What if Columbia Sportswear were to ask, what do you tell them?

His response!

Hi Jerry – just to use the same example, we have a pretty significant business with Columbia/MHW and we would tell them the same thing. Temperature rating is not objective test, it is subjective.

I like to use the example of my wife, I have a nice jacket from Patagonia out of our 9110 grid fabric, that is my go to on many occasions and is perfect, but it can’t keep her warm at all..

I am happy to provide you some fabric to test out, but that is really the best I could give you..

I was not surprised to know that his wife could not be warm in a Polartec garment, so I suggested he buy her a Wiggy’s Lamilite garment.

His response;

I try to stick with Polartec J she has plenty of options!

My final response was “let her freeze”!!

What a jackass!

A picture is worth at least 1000 words so I will not describe for you what I am looking at except to say when you see the video you will have a much better understanding of what the trash product is.

The reason that I am not given any guide line as to the materials warmth retention capability is simple it has none and they probably know that.

When will these very large companies wake up and take the position of offering products that actually perform for the job at hand; NEVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A trend was set in motion 40 or so years ago by W.L. Gore Company selling to the general public a dream and the company grew as I am told from $15,000,000.00 to $3 billion. The dream came true for the Gore family and since then a multitude of companies have jumped on the band wagon offering other materials that function or let’s say don’t function any better than the Gore product. Then of course there are all of the companies that sell insulations that are trying to mimic the financial success the Gore experienced. How about all the companies that offer moisture management garments of end of stink garments or boots that guarantee you will have cold feet each and every winter wearing these boots. Need I go on?

The stark reality is that these companies in my opinion do not give a hoot for the consumer!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
