Send Us an eMailHi Wiggys crew,
The new site looks great!
Just wanted to take a minute and thank you for your work.
From the Antarctic Bag & Mitts, our beautiful white Fossil Ridge Parkas & Bibs, Mukluks, even the booties & other odds & ends… these have all become my favorite things, because they’re the equipment depend on with full confidence. Amazing warmth, breathability and comfort, rugged durability, washability, and the quality of your company itself, standing behind your products & even accommodating custom orders; there is just no one like you guys.
You’ve made winter my favorite time of year. Now when it’s -35, I grab a book, my gear & snowshoes, head out wherever, and enjoy the sunshine and fresh air in total comfort. I’ve used your gear winter camping & adventuring up into canada, climbing up/sliding down snow, ice, rocks & dirt, been blown across Lake Superior on my face in ice squalls and after the initial shock, even enjoyed the experience of getting run over by the freight train whiteout hurricane, completely warm & protected. Somehow, this stuff shows no wear yet! I don’t get it, but I love it.
I can’t thank you enough for the excellent equipment and your willingness to do custom work to make everything perfect for your customers.
Sincerely,
Pete Doering
Here are a few pics of places your gear has allowed me to go...
Mr. Wigutow,
In August of this year I completed my Alaskan caribou hunt that I discussed in my first email back in April, 2014. During the trip, I utilized the Super Light bag that I purchased on your advice. I had the FTRSS with me but I did not need it! I used it as an extra sleeping bag since the Super Light was plenty warm; for short periods I slept with bare feet and was plenty warm. I was able to dry out most of my clothes just by either wearing them in the bag or stuffing them inside while I was in it. My buddies with cheap bags never could dry their clothes and they were miserable. I did not take your ground pad with me since we had an outfitter camp package that included (cheap USGI-type) sleeping pads.
I also wore daily your 9” socks and jacket liner. They worked very well in keeping me warm and dry. The socks were very comfortable during the 40-plus miles I walked while on the hunt. In the attached photo I was wearing the jacket inside out as 'tundra camo.' It worked well in that regard.
Anyways, thank you for the great advice and for the great products.

I think I bought my Ultima Thule back in like 1997 and it's still my go to bag in the winter time here in Colorado. Over New Year's eve I backpacked up Pikes Peak and camped inside Monty's Rock Pile just below Barr Camp. The temp at night was around 5 below zero and I slept toasty warm thanks to your bag. Thanks Jerry.

[Here's a picture of] your awsome waders at work. 3rd season on them and of course they were trashed by the end of last season, but a few patches got us through this season. They sure do make crossing streams with sheep meat on your back a little nicer. Thanks again and keep up the good work.

I decided to sleep under the stars earlier this spring, so I set up my camp cot out in the back yard, threw my old, ripped, beat-up, 20 year-old sleeping pad on the cot, and rolled out my Wiggy's Overbag.
I had forgotten what it was like to sleep without any cover over my head, and was fascinated by the great star show, as this was during the dark of the moon...but the star display didn't last long, as I was soon out there in dream-land.
Well, next thing I knew, I was wakened by the early-bird Robins that were all carrying on, and as I semi-consciously pulled an arm out of my Overbag and flopped it down on the top of the bag, it came away soaking wet and cold! That brought me to (almost) fully awake in a hurry...
I had also forgotten about condensation (dew) formation on such a cool, clear night such as the one I had just slept through, and the outside of the top of my Overbag was thoroughly wetted down...BUT, inside the bag, I was totally warm, dry, and cozy! The low temperature over night was 48 degrees F, and at no time did I experience any cold spots, cool spots, or ANY spots. I never woke up once all night!
Every time I crawl into one of my three Wiggy's bags, the Overbag, my Superlight, or my Antarctic (Yes, I get it out once in a while just to take the edge off until I can use it in the REALLY cold stuff) I can't help but be amazed all over again at the soft, cozy, WARM comfort of your SUPERIOR products.
Best,
– Scott W.
Wiggy,
First, thank you for your assistance in choosing the correct bag for my daughter. She is a sailor serving on a Guided Missile Destroyer. Because of the electronics on board, the ship is kept in a near state of refrigeration. She is always cold while in her rack. She purchased a Coleman bag to sleep in and was not pleased at all. Now she did not tell me this BUT when I mentioned that I bought her a new sleeping bag and its capabilities over other "normal" bags, she was ecstatic!! I offered to ship it to her while she is at sea and she said not to. When she comes home on leave, she will take it back with her. Apparently she has watched enough resupply operations to be concerned about her sleeping bag getting to her in one piece. I chuckled because I had opened the box the bag was in. It was vacuum packed and put in a proper box. Then it had heavy duty vinyl straps around the box so there would be no shipping problems. Yes, I truly believe your box would have even survived U.S. Navy resupply while the fleet is underway! Thank you, Wiggy. I have purchased from you many items during the past four years. You are good for your word. Your products and service are second to none. Thank you for taking care of my daughter serving her country at sea.

Jerry,
I bought a supplex sweater in 2002 after experiencing the wonders of your sleeping bags. When it arrived, I inspected it and realized that the sweater was made just like the sleeping bag. My first reaction was this supplex material won't stand up to daily life. How wrong I was! This sweater has been my go-to garment for more than 15 years. During our southern Maine winters (September to May), I live in this sweater. It is my every day winter coat. The sweater has become my best snow jacket. It is also my best rain jacket. I discovered after getting caught in a rain squall that the sweater will be soaked and I stay warm and dry.
But the secret ingredient of this coat I realize after all this time are the pockets. They hold the 'stuff' that one needs for winter - with enough room left over for my hands - without being too bulky.
This is a very well made and thoughtfully designed garment.
Thank you for making life in the outdoors safer and more enjoyable!

Dear Wiggys,
Hopefully my experience with one of your sleeping bags will help those who are deciding to get one. For the record this bag is not my first purchase from your company. Anyway, one day I was curious to test your bag in an unconventional way. Directly after taking a hot shower, I climbed in my Wiggys bag and zipped it all the way up. Knowing that I was in my living room, I was expecting to overheat and get sweaty. I experienced quite the contrary. Within minutes (yes minutes) I was dry and comfortably warm. The moisture transfer of this bag is amazing. Not only was my body temp regulated but I exited my bag completely dry. In comparison, I have a similarly rated NF bag (by temp) and in mild temps - low 40's - sleeping in a tent I become sweaty. Your bag makes all the difference in the world. I am so glad to have come across you and your company. Now my son wants one of you bags too!
Thanks!

I didn't believe there was such thing as simple "no frills" gear that does what it is intended to for a reasonable price. I stand corrected.
Most outdoor companies are selling disposable junk for twice the price. I have tried everything from issued military equipment to ultralight fastpacking gear. Wiggys is one of the very few companies merging the two sides of the spectrum at a fair price.

I just returned from a 2 year road trip from Southern California to Alaska to which I spent 6 months, then to the Yukon to which I spent 2 Months and then to Waterton Glacier N/P then down to Yellowstone N/P then to Zion N/P, then to Bryce Canyon N/P. And on this trip I sleep out in the open with a Wiggy's Pad and my Wiggy's Nautilus Over bag and my Hunter with hood over-bag. I never once got cold while sleeping and my bag was always dry when I woke. Several times I woke to snow on me and again I was never cold. Well the reason for the titles "Wiggy's sleeping bags so good they had to be stolen" was because while I was in Bryce Canyon N/P I young couple was looking for a campsite but the campsite was full, so I offered for them to stay at my camp site so that they had a place to camp that night. Well that night a storm cam in and it started to lightly snow, and the young girl of 24 years was just freezing as it got down to 27 degrees F. I heard her crying so I got up and told her to get into my over-bag and within minutes she was warn and slept through the resat of the night in comfort. She had earlier said how good her Mountain Hardware down bag was! She had not planed on it being that cold but her bag was listed to 20 degrees and should have kept her warm., but it didn't, especially since it was snowing. The next morning all she could do was rave about my Wiggy's sleeping bag. A little later that morning I was going a little hike down into the canyons of Bryce. The couple was going to be there all day they had told me so I asked to to keep an eye on my stuff and they said they would. So when I returned they were gone along with my Wiggy's bags ! That ended my trip and off to home I went. I am sure that my bags are keeping them warm ans toasty on their trip.

Hi Jerry,
Just wanted you to know how happy I am with my Chuka boots. I have worn them without the lamilite socks in 20 degree temperatures, and in the 85-90 temperature range on a three mile hike while wearing heavy wool socks in both conditions. My feet were warm in the 20's, and most amazing to me, not hot or sweaty, in the Florida heat. Oh yes, they are very comfortable. Thank you for another quality product.

I have been doing a lot of research on Wiggys I have been a consistent fan of Asolo boots for the last 10 years, but my problem with them is that once they get wet they stay wet for days. In my line of work that causes serious problems. I call the store and had a few questions. The nice lady said I will have Jerry call you, and sure enough he did! After a great conversation I bought a pair of boots. I can't wait to wear them and I can't wait to be a life long Wiggys owner! Thank you

And I have to say, as I sit here spelling out this reply I’m wearing one of your liner jackets. I love this simple and wonderful thing. It’s so simply adaptable. I can get a little chilled here at the desk, but with the liner I’m perfectly comfortable. Further, in that I’ve had the liner for the past few weeks (not long at all), I’ve at least had the opportunity to walk across the parking lot in about 30 degree temps, and I find it to be absolutely comfortable then as well. I’m sure I will have even more experiences as I get into next winter.
Your other garments must be absolutely amazing in cold temps. I find myself believing everything I’m reading on your site. My son has a desire to serve his mission in a place like Norway. Time will tell if he does. But, if he indeed is called to such a region I’m thinking he will be taking something with the Wiggy’s name on it.
Thanks, Jerry!
