The new site looks great!
Just wanted to take a minute and thank you for your work.
From the Antarctic Bag & Mitts, our beautiful white Fossil Ridge Parkas & Bibs, Mukluks, even the booties & other odds & ends… these have all become my favorite things, because they’re the equipment depend on with full confidence. Amazing warmth, breathability and comfort, rugged durability, washability, and the quality of your company itself, standing behind your products & even accommodating custom orders; there is just no one like you guys.
You’ve made winter my favorite time of year. Now when it’s -35, I grab a book, my gear & snowshoes, head out wherever, and enjoy the sunshine and fresh air in total comfort. I’ve used your gear winter camping & adventuring up into canada, climbing up/sliding down snow, ice, rocks & dirt, been blown across Lake Superior on my face in ice squalls and after the initial shock, even enjoyed the experience of getting run over by the freight train whiteout hurricane, completely warm & protected. Somehow, this stuff shows no wear yet! I don’t get it, but I love it.
I can’t thank you enough for the excellent equipment and your willingness to do custom work to make everything perfect for your customers.
Sincerely,
Pete Doering
Here are a few pics of places your gear has allowed me to go...
Mr. Wigutow,
In August of this year I completed my Alaskan caribou hunt that I discussed in my first email back in April, 2014. During the trip, I utilized the Super Light bag that I purchased on your advice. I had the FTRSS with me but I did not need it! I used it as an extra sleeping bag since the Super Light was plenty warm; for short periods I slept with bare feet and was plenty warm. I was able to dry out most of my clothes just by either wearing them in the bag or stuffing them inside while I was in it. My buddies with cheap bags never could dry their clothes and they were miserable. I did not take your ground pad with me since we had an outfitter camp package that included (cheap USGI-type) sleeping pads.
I also wore daily your 9” socks and jacket liner. They worked very well in keeping me warm and dry. The socks were very comfortable during the 40-plus miles I walked while on the hunt. In the attached photo I was wearing the jacket inside out as 'tundra camo.' It worked well in that regard.
Anyways, thank you for the great advice and for the great products.

I think I bought my Ultima Thule back in like 1997 and it's still my go to bag in the winter time here in Colorado. Over New Year's eve I backpacked up Pikes Peak and camped inside Monty's Rock Pile just below Barr Camp. The temp at night was around 5 below zero and I slept toasty warm thanks to your bag. Thanks Jerry.

[Here's a picture of] your awsome waders at work. 3rd season on them and of course they were trashed by the end of last season, but a few patches got us through this season. They sure do make crossing streams with sheep meat on your back a little nicer. Thanks again and keep up the good work.

I ordered my bag on Sunday… It arrived on Thursday morning via FedEx!! It’s top-notch American service for you! The bag is everything and more than I expected!! The radial stuff sack seems bullet proof! You’ll never find a bag like this hanging on the racks at the big box stores. You get what you pay for… In this case, maybe more!
Merry Christmas… Cheers to Wiggy’s!!

A couple of years ago I purchased the Hunter Ultima Thule with a ground pad determined to not spend a cold night in my hammock again. It certainly solved that problem. I find myself unzipping the bag to let some cool air in and never have cold spots underneath me.
I recently had a camping trip that involved lots of rain and very high winds. I walked back to camp (in my lamilite boots) with dry feet to find that the wind had pulled the anchors for my tarp out of the ground leaving my hammock and Wiggy bag exposed to the pouring rain. A closer look revealed the 2 or 3 gallons of water puddled in the middle of my sleeping bag. Well Mr. Wiggy now what!? I thought to myself. Luckily I had a dry towel. So I dumped the water, rigged the tarp much more securely this time and towel dried everything as best I could. The bottom of the bag was the most saturated so I decided to flip it over and have the wetter side on top of me. I put on my Wiggy fishnet PJs and prepared for what I expected to be a miserable night.
Once inside the bag it was warm in just a few minutes like always. After about 20 minutes the damp bag now just had a damp spot where the water had gathered. Another 20 minutes passed and the damp spot was barely noticeable. So I got up and put the bag right side up, crawled back in and went to sleep. That morning the bag was bone dry and I was warm and well rested. In the back of my mind I could see Mr. Wiggy smiling and saying," Simply the best. That's what."
There were a few elements that made this a success story. The dry towel was very helpful in removing most of the water. The fishnets made my body a heat source almost completely incapable of retaining any moisture. Turning the bag over so the heat from my body could rise and push the moisture out of the bag worked magically. No other sleeping bag on the planet could do that. When put to the test Wiggy's products always out perform their own claims.
Thank you Mr. Wigutow for all that you do.
A loyal customer for life.

I've been a Wiggy's customer for over 30 years now and the original bag I bought in the 80's is still as good today as day I bought it. Workmanship and quality is key to the success of your products and it far exceeds any other bags.
I just bought my grandson 12 a new superlight to use on his scout outings.
I've spent many a night sleeping comfortably while my pals are always cold with their high tech high cost bags.
Thank you for all your support and great service you've given me in past.
Love your products !!!!!!

Some time ago I'd come to learn of the miraculous new Ducksback material from Wiggys. After pulling my money I'd finally pulled the trigger on a brand new Alaska Range Parka Shell in olive green Ducksback. Known for being the most water resistant non laminated or coated material, whilst maintaining vapor permeability, seemed far too good to be true. But, as I've come to learn from my conversations with Mr.Wigutow, and his wealth of experience, he is no man to say whatever it takes to push his products. The Ducksback garment, was no exception. It had done everything that it said it would, in the short experience I had with it. I immediately began testing the garment under a quick shower run, and managed to stay bone dry for 25 minutes, upon which I exited in the interest of saving money on the water bill. I went on extensive day walks in 85 degree plus weather in the Houston Humidity, and did not overheat in it. Had it been completely waterproofed by some sort of lamination or coating process, I would have been dying within a few blocks, as i have before in a Gore-Tex hard shell. The generous fit combined with the full length zipper and generous neck opening kept me very well ventilated.
This garment was incredibly water resistant, withstanding all manner of tests, whilst only having water come through during a four minute submersion test ( sticking my sleeve directly in a sink full of water).
I had eventually returned it within a few weeks, only because it was not the jacket I was looking for. This shell was an excellent garment, being incredibly water resistant, and yes, in my experience, very breathable. However, I was not in the market for a garment such as this at that time. I'd been in the market for a replacement to a long beloved Field Jacket, that had recently been retired. A jacket that can take a beating and have beauty shine through it's scars. This garment, was not that jacket to me, it was a jacket that I would not have wanted to go crawling around in the bush with, or sitting next to a campfire. I can make no definitive statements to the durability of the jacket, because the only measure for this is time and experience. My initial impressions to this issue however, was that it was built to withstand the test of time. The jacket was returned hassle free, for a full refund. I have every intention of eventually purchasing a garment in the Ducksback material again, because it works the way it says it well. My only real issue, is deciding which one to buy.

A couple of weeks ago, I got a Ducksback pullover shirt in preparation for a late October trip to Scotland. I knew that the weather could be cold and wet. The Ducksback would be light weight and could compress down to fit along with all of my other things into a small pocket in the one carry-on bag.
I spend a morning on flyfishing from a small boat on Loch Lomond. We had rain, wind, spray from the Loch. Oh, it was rather chilly too. My Wiggy’s shirt performed very well as one of my layers. At first, I didn’t think I’d be a fan of the raglan sleeves, but I found that they afforded me much more freedom of movement without loss of body heat – very nice while flyfishing under these conditions. I stayed warm and dry. My companions didn’t fare so well. Walking back to the car after we got back to shore, they were shivering uncontrollably.
I’m very pleased with how the pullover performed that day and day after day on that Scotland adventure.

I counted up the other day, and we have 38 Wiggy’s sleeping bags. We use these for our summer weekly overnight horse pack trips up to 10,000 ft. elevation in the heart of the Colorado Rocky Mountains. We have had these for quite a while and a few had some zipper pull problems. So, my daughter and I made the 3-1/2 hour drive over to Grand Junction to visit with Jerry Wigutow.
He took a quick look at the first bag I pulled out of the stuff sack and told me that he doesn’t use that brand of zipper. Then, after a brief pause and a thoughtful look, he said well…we did use that zipper for the first few months when we started manufacturing sleeping bags here over 30 years ago. I knew we were using these bags for some time, but hadn’t realized that it was for more than 30 years. Jerry disappeared through a door on to the production floor. When he returned his hands were cupped full of the parts we needed to repair the 5 bags with zipper issues. There were spares as well. Jerry Wiglow makes products that last and he stands by them.

I purchased one ducksback jacket from wiggy. I am pleased with two things: one wiggy sold a product that does as he said it would do that's a big plus and two: I am pleased that he told the "truth" about his product. which leads me to say, because he is a man of his word he has me as a customer for all of my cold weather needs. I suggest to all people to buy from wiggy.

ive written a few of these to you before about your great products . but I had to just drop this one too . my wifes a Filipino , and shes not yet fully used to the cold here yet in wintertime . now , it doesn't get very bad low temps in the southern u.s. , in Arkansas , oklahoma and Louisiana , but when your from a tropical island environment where its wqrm year round , the cold here is like the artic to you . I'm fairly used to it even though I am a bit cold natured as ive gotten older . I worked out in it and hunted nd fished in it all my life . so no big deal....my wife loves the ultima thule , antarctic hunter , and the superlight . the only way I can get her out of them at daybreak is with fresh brewed coffee and , or bacon cooking , or maybe tocino . shes not much for being a whiner or complainer anyway . but she does not like being miserably cold . so I made absolutely certain , from day one of her getting here a little over a year ago and us getting married that shes NEVER had to suffer a single cold nights sleep like I have had over my lifetime in the outdoors because of her sleeping everytime in the cold in a wiggys bag . a smart man , makes damn sure mammas happy , cuz if mammas not happy , nobodys happy ! mines very happy and says....SALAMAT PO . to mr. jerry wigutow ! shes also happy shes got a smart husband and not an idiot , that knows well made gear , buys it and uses it,.....often . weather camping on the Harley , hunting , fishing , anything in the outdoors , shes guaranteed a good , warm , dry nights sleep ,.thank you jerry...stll loving the bags , and soon as needed I'm buying those other 7 bags and ground pads, likely in the next 6-8 months....finally . for the kids .

ive bought an Antarctic rect bag , a super lght ftrss , and an ultima thule mummy . ive used em for the last 4 years from Louisiana duck, turkey and deer hunts , all the way to new mexico ,montana and Wyoming elk hunting and salmon fishing in Washington state . I sleep cold natured . ive had military surplus bags , coleman bags , marmots , north face and many others . NOTHING beats a wiggys and with me fixing to have to buy 7 more for family members , I'm not about to waste my money on some box store junk to go camping in fall , winter or early spring conditions ,ANYWHERE except in a wiggys bag . I even took my over bag to the Philippines last year to sleep on top of . everyone wanted to BORROW it .....so its definetly safe to say if I'm buying new bags and certain other gear , its getting bought from WIGGYS. except for mil surplus heavy wool blankets , in a hot tipi or hammocking . these bags are all I ever use or will EVER need . period ,anywhere....thank you wiggys , for making a nice nights sleep a great nights sleep .

I was first introduced to Wiggy's from a man named Mark Pacholec back in 1990. We were in the Marines together and somehow Mark got to know Jerry Wigutow. (Jerry can probably tell the story) and was introduced to "The Wiggy Bag".
Anyway, Mark was respected as a cold weather expert and being that we were all in cold weather unit, Mark was always talking about this "Wiggy bag". He slowly convinced Marine by Marine that the Wiggy bag was superior than anything on the market. He eventually convinced us all, and we all shelled out our own money and bought a Wiggy bag. (You should have seen the Supply Chief question why the entire until had turned back in their government issue sleeping bag one-by-one). That was nearly 27 years ago.
Now 2017 I can honestly tell you that I have used my Wiggy bag every part of those 27 years and to this day. It is in the same shape today as it was in 1990. It has traveled with me all over the world. I have taken all or part of the FTRSS system with me depending where I have traveled. I have photos of me sleeping in it in airports, and have used it in hotel rooms, camping and even in my own bed! I eventually learned that Wiggy makes bed comfortable and now every bed in my house is equipped with a Wiggy comfortable.
I need to buy more, but my the inner and outer bag is usually found somewhere in my house as my kids are always using it as a blanket. It is affectionately known in my house as "The Marine Bag".
I love my Wiggy sleeping bag. I have always said that it is one of the best investments I have ever made. There are only a few products on the market that I wholeheartedly love and will promote. Wiggy's is one of them.
I have come to know Jerry Wigutow over the years through correspondences and I respect the man and thank-him for creating the greatest sleeping bags on Planet Earth. Additionally, as the CEO - who else do you know that answers the phones!!!!!
Wiggy's - THE BEST THAT THERE IS!
