Would you like to send Wiggy photos of your own experiences?
Send Us an eMailHi Wiggys crew,
The new site looks great!
Just wanted to take a minute and thank you for your work.
From the Antarctic Bag & Mitts, our beautiful white Fossil Ridge Parkas & Bibs, Mukluks, even the booties & other odds & ends… these have all become my favorite things, because they’re the equipment depend on with full confidence. Amazing warmth, breathability and comfort, rugged durability, washability, and the quality of your company itself, standing behind your products & even accommodating custom orders; there is just no one like you guys.
You’ve made winter my favorite time of year. Now when it’s -35, I grab a book, my gear & snowshoes, head out wherever, and enjoy the sunshine and fresh air in total comfort. I’ve used your gear winter camping & adventuring up into canada, climbing up/sliding down snow, ice, rocks & dirt, been blown across Lake Superior on my face in ice squalls and after the initial shock, even enjoyed the experience of getting run over by the freight train whiteout hurricane, completely warm & protected. Somehow, this stuff shows no wear yet! I don’t get it, but I love it.
I can’t thank you enough for the excellent equipment and your willingness to do custom work to make everything perfect for your customers.
Sincerely,
Pete Doering
Here are a few pics of places your gear has allowed me to go...
Mr. Wigutow,
In August of this year I completed my Alaskan caribou hunt that I discussed in my first email back in April, 2014. During the trip, I utilized the Super Light bag that I purchased on your advice. I had the FTRSS with me but I did not need it! I used it as an extra sleeping bag since the Super Light was plenty warm; for short periods I slept with bare feet and was plenty warm. I was able to dry out most of my clothes just by either wearing them in the bag or stuffing them inside while I was in it. My buddies with cheap bags never could dry their clothes and they were miserable. I did not take your ground pad with me since we had an outfitter camp package that included (cheap USGI-type) sleeping pads.
I also wore daily your 9” socks and jacket liner. They worked very well in keeping me warm and dry. The socks were very comfortable during the 40-plus miles I walked while on the hunt. In the attached photo I was wearing the jacket inside out as 'tundra camo.' It worked well in that regard.
Anyways, thank you for the great advice and for the great products.

I think I bought my Ultima Thule back in like 1997 and it's still my go to bag in the winter time here in Colorado. Over New Year's eve I backpacked up Pikes Peak and camped inside Monty's Rock Pile just below Barr Camp. The temp at night was around 5 below zero and I slept toasty warm thanks to your bag. Thanks Jerry.

[Here's a picture of] your awsome waders at work. 3rd season on them and of course they were trashed by the end of last season, but a few patches got us through this season. They sure do make crossing streams with sheep meat on your back a little nicer. Thanks again and keep up the good work.

Hi Jerry
No problem I was reading it and thought the same thing.
I would like to thank you for the newsletters,
They are a great source of information that I keep, and reference from time to time.
I have taken your information and put it into practice, when I can, and have several of you products on the wish list for future purchase
I love the sleeping bag I brought from you several years ago it still looks like new and has never let me down
Keep up the good work you and your team do
All the best and thanks again

Just wanted to thank you guys for your products. Have a bunch of your stuff, including old Lamilite boots and socks. Have had the socks on under those and in my riding pacs for two days here sorting sale cows in northern Nebraska. High was maybe 10 both days and a 25mph wind. More than enough warmth with those and your vest under a canvas chore coat. Have had your pack boots on at -40 on piceance creek in colorado.....couldnt be happier.

Jerry,
I have replaced the felt liners in my Hoffman Pack boots with a pair of Sunwalkers and also use a pair of lamilite socks. With this set up, my feet are warm and quite comfortable.
I also have a pair of camo lamilite chaps, a digital camo lamilite pullover, digital lamilite liner jacket, FR bibs, Ultima Thule bag, and a Superlite bag.
I have camped in the winter in Alaska with the Thule bag, and have stayed warm in my tent. Your ground pad is going to be my next purchase.

I live in a small cottage (>400 sq ft) in the mountains of California. The building has no insulation, having been built about 90 years ago.
In such small space, I found beds just took up too much floor space. My solution was one of your Luxurious Ground Pads which I roll out on the floor every night. Today the temp really dropped so I made my winter switch in sleeping bags, putting away my Wiggy Desert bag and rolling out my Wiggy Ultima. FYI, since I use it every night, I just roll the sleeping bags and a pillow up inside the ground pad. The straps on the pad are long enough to still close with the entire bed set inside. Very quick and easy to stow and deploy.
I also have one of your Single Person Bivy Shelters. When traveling around on motorcycle this has proven to be the perfect small space shelter. I typically keep my Desert Bag rolled up inside the Bivy when stashed on the bike.
My story may not be as adventurous as some of your customers, but I doubt there are many who spend more nights in your gear.
Thank you for making a quality product. It really does last and do the job.

Jerry,
A couple weeks ago I called you on a Saturday and we talked about my son who lost his toes on one foot in a industrial accident.
I told you that since the accident his foot was always cold at 50 degree weather, and unbearable at anything less. It was so bad that when he came to Montana to hunt he could only last less than an hour because his foot would be freezing. He didn't want to come any more because of his foot.
You told me that a pair of your Lamilite socks and a pair of your boots would keep his feet warm no matter what.
Since I've used your sleeping bags for years I knew of the quality of your products so I ordered two pairs.
Last week we went to Montana to work cattle for a couple of days in 20 and 30 degree weather, and hunted elk for the rest of the week and to our Amazement his feet never got cold once.
Jerry you changed his "Life" I don't have words to Thank You enough for you and your products so this will have to do.
Thanks

I bought my purple, zero degree Wiggy in 1986! It has been washed a thousand times and the fill is still lofty, just as promised. It has traveled from desert to mountain and even on Rainier, I was warm as toast. Not only that, but it has survived a hot Arizona garage in the summer, (when it wasn't out camping) where other fabrics in other bags I have, have deteriorated.Never had any complaints and always refer to the bag as Wiggy, as though it was a personal friend, because it was! I have handed it down to my daughter who camps more than I do now.

Bought the regular boot first and wore it hunting,VERY comfortable and worn with the lamalite sox and wool sox [ bothe worked ] as weather was moderate so far.
Got the Chukka boot a few days ago and have worn them for 4 days straight in cool weather and lots of rain.
They are comfortable and I feel like I am actually wearing a 'combat boot',even though they look a bit dressy and are light on the foot.
THANK YOU,I look forward to trying to wear them out [ LOL ].
Good products at a fair price, all you can ask for ---- OH,and MADE IN America !!

I have been wearing the Wiggy's Lamilite lined Chukka Boots every day this week they arrived. Outside low temperatures in the mid 40's highs in mid 60's. They are comfortable and work as advertised. Wearing light merino wool socks for walks and hikes in the neighborhood, transitioning indoors to outdoors my feet have been comfortably warm, never too warm and never cold. Wore them one day with the Lamilite socks, feet were toasty warm and dry all day, even after a 30 minute hike in the neighborhood. So today, my Wiggy's Chukka Boots held a final formation for an Army career's worth of worthless Goretex and Thinsulate lined boots that ensured my feet were cold in the winter and overheated in warm temperatures. You can see one pair of my Army issued mountain boots for Afghanistan were never worn once. These boots will be donated to charity. Hopefully they will only be used in the mild urban jungles of California.

I have worn Schnees and Kenetrek pack boots for years now predator calling, elk hunting, and riding/packing my mules in the winter months. My feet have always been warm in the truck, walking, and loading my mules to get ready for a ride in/out of camp. Whenever I was stationary I always ended up with cold feet no matter what type or how many pairs of socks I wore. This, of course, was with their felt insoles that came with their boots.
I learned of Wiggy's products from my brother that had used his sleeping bags camping in the backcountry with bush pilot buddy from Alaska. My brothers claims sounded to good to be true to say the least. After a phone call to Wiggy, I had a new Wiggy's sleeping bag on the way to try for myself. I found out quickly that my brother's claims were true and then some. Best sleeping bag I have ever been around period.
Back to the cold feet....
Recently, I helped a buddy pack out his elk camp in the back country with my mules. I had recently replaced the felt insoles in my Schnees pack boots with Jerry's Sunwalker 2 replacement insoles and lamilite socks. My buddy was wearing his Schnees with their standard felt insoles. The temperature was in the teens to low twenty's most of the day and this was the first time my feet were warm on the ride to and from camp. I made it a point to ask my buddy if he was staying warm on the ride out and he said he was doing alright except for his feet being cold.
I would strongly recommend any of Wiggy's sleeping bags as well as the sunwalker 2 insoles teamed up with the lamilite socks. I own two different Wiggy's sleeping bags and they are absolutely class 1 in every way. I will never wear a pair of beets with felt liners ever again. I would recommend all of Wiggy's products, but I haven't tried them all out yet. I am sure they wouldn't disappoint.
Thanks for making a high quality product in the United States. You have a customer for life.

I recently purchased a bag and wanted to make a change after looking at some of the specials. I called on a Monday night, after 6 my time and received a call back at approximately 7 p.m. Had a great discussion with the representative and he assisted me to make a change to better accommodate my needs. In other words, he changed my order from what I thought I wanted to a third option which best meets my needs.
I am a raving fan. I will purchase from Wiggys again and again. You just don't get customer service like that any more.
