The new site looks great!
Just wanted to take a minute and thank you for your work.
From the Antarctic Bag & Mitts, our beautiful white Fossil Ridge Parkas & Bibs, Mukluks, even the booties & other odds & ends… these have all become my favorite things, because they’re the equipment depend on with full confidence. Amazing warmth, breathability and comfort, rugged durability, washability, and the quality of your company itself, standing behind your products & even accommodating custom orders; there is just no one like you guys.
You’ve made winter my favorite time of year. Now when it’s -35, I grab a book, my gear & snowshoes, head out wherever, and enjoy the sunshine and fresh air in total comfort. I’ve used your gear winter camping & adventuring up into canada, climbing up/sliding down snow, ice, rocks & dirt, been blown across Lake Superior on my face in ice squalls and after the initial shock, even enjoyed the experience of getting run over by the freight train whiteout hurricane, completely warm & protected. Somehow, this stuff shows no wear yet! I don’t get it, but I love it.
I can’t thank you enough for the excellent equipment and your willingness to do custom work to make everything perfect for your customers.
Sincerely,
Pete Doering
Here are a few pics of places your gear has allowed me to go...
Mr. Wigutow,
In August of this year I completed my Alaskan caribou hunt that I discussed in my first email back in April, 2014. During the trip, I utilized the Super Light bag that I purchased on your advice. I had the FTRSS with me but I did not need it! I used it as an extra sleeping bag since the Super Light was plenty warm; for short periods I slept with bare feet and was plenty warm. I was able to dry out most of my clothes just by either wearing them in the bag or stuffing them inside while I was in it. My buddies with cheap bags never could dry their clothes and they were miserable. I did not take your ground pad with me since we had an outfitter camp package that included (cheap USGI-type) sleeping pads.
I also wore daily your 9” socks and jacket liner. They worked very well in keeping me warm and dry. The socks were very comfortable during the 40-plus miles I walked while on the hunt. In the attached photo I was wearing the jacket inside out as 'tundra camo.' It worked well in that regard.
Anyways, thank you for the great advice and for the great products.

I think I bought my Ultima Thule back in like 1997 and it's still my go to bag in the winter time here in Colorado. Over New Year's eve I backpacked up Pikes Peak and camped inside Monty's Rock Pile just below Barr Camp. The temp at night was around 5 below zero and I slept toasty warm thanks to your bag. Thanks Jerry.

[Here's a picture of] your awsome waders at work. 3rd season on them and of course they were trashed by the end of last season, but a few patches got us through this season. They sure do make crossing streams with sheep meat on your back a little nicer. Thanks again and keep up the good work.

Wiggy’s,
Wanted to share my experience with you regarding my new Wiggy’s Hunter Ultima Thule -20 degrees. After much research and speaking with you Jerry, I decided to go with the Hunter bag. I live in Illinois, but hunt in Alaska during the late fall season. Since hunting season in Alaska occurs before our winter here in Illinois, I have the opportunity to try out any new gear before I go up to AK for the next season week long hunt. Since I hunt way out in the bush, there is no room for mistakes!
I got my chance to try out my new bag on February 11th - 12th, 2016. In Illinois, where I live, the temps reached 3 degrees with a minus 13 windchill. I took this opportunity to put the Hunter Ultima to a real test: wearing only briefs and my new Lamilite socks, I ran out to the bag that was already lying in the yard cold (with out the benefit of a tent). I quickly crawled into the bag and immediately started to feel the warming effects of its construction.
Jerry, I spent over two hours in the bag, wind blowing, but no cold effect at all! In fact, I even took off the Lamilite socks and my bear feet were warm and comfortable. Further, I had to unzip the bag a little to let some cool air in!
I know have first hand experience with my extreme test to know that my future Alaskan hunts will be comforted with my new portable furnace called the Hunter Ultima Thule!
All the best and thank you!

I got caught in a nasty squall on horseback a few weeks ago. I was out by myself, but still in phone contact. The wind, rain, and sleet were quite unexpected. It was 4 hours of hard riding to get back to the ranch, wind chill was about 10F, maybe less. I was wearing your "sweater" which worked great! I knew I was wet, but I didn't realize the Lamilite sweater was completely soaked until I took it off. At no time did I get chilled. I was also wearing Filson dry finish brush pants.
Without your good gear and a great Arabian it might have been more adventure than it was.
Thanks,
Barry.

Hello Sir,
Just a short note to let you know I will be ordering your new boots (Black) when I save up the cash for them.
Side note: Even if the winter this year was not as bad as last year. Its snowed some twice where I'm at and the temp. did drop to around zero or below with the wind chill a few times. I tested your socks alone and with the outer boots I got with regular patrol type work boots I used and they work perfectly. Before my feet got cold at times cause of the weather or getting that wet cold feeling after walking in snow or wet ground.(Or rain or snowing) With your gear I didn't even think about my feet being cold and I was happy as hell when I realized hmm, my feet should be cold now doing this or that and they were nice and warm like its was a summer day.
Your gears rock and I tell anybody when the subject come up about your stuff. I plan on buying one of everything you sell cause I can bet my life on it and not worry about if it will work or not.
Out Standing job Marine!!! Keep up the good works and God Bless you and your!
Sincerely & Semper Fi

Jerry,
I have written you a few times this week so please bare with me. (1) I just ordered my fishnet body wear and my lamilite boots… they were both under my daughter’s name “Melissa” but they are for me. After your advice, I am replacing my Goretex, Thinsulate and Polar-fleece combination for a more 100% AMERICAN MADE PRODUCT THAT DOES THE JOB!
I was recently thinking about your company’s name and I knew I had heard it before. (I ordered a Thule sleeping bag last year or the year before but I am talking about before that.) I couldn’t remember and then it dawned on me… and I thought you should know.
About 25 years ago, I did a lot of training with soldiers who were trained by the British SAS. They were part of a NATO plan to have the SAS teach reconnaissance techniques to U.S. and other European soldiers in advent of an invasion by Russia. These soldiers then trained their units and others and we all put it to good use until it was replaced by inferior methods. The men who trained in England learned a lot and truly respected the SAS for their abilities.
One man, in particular, was a close friend and I was asking him about sleeping bags. I was about to buy a brand new Army sleeping bag for the Texas/Louisiana climate I was always in and he said, “Look, if you are broke and you are never going to spend the night in 40 degree or less weather, than the issue bag is fine. I would just buy a Goretex bivy to put over it to keep it from getting soaked in the rain. BUT NEVER USE THE DAMN THING IF YOU ARE GOING TO TRAIN IN REAL COLD WEATHER CONDITIONS LIKE WE HAD IN ENGLAND.” I asked him to explain because according to the literature, the issue intermediate bag was good for cold weather (or so I thought.) Ken went on to say, “In England, everyone uses the Snugpak sleeping bags AND THEY ARE CRAP!! The best one you can get that will keep you warm at the rating it is advertised at is a company called “Wiggy”. Some SAS troops I talked to said that is the only bag they would use since the other bag left them frozen. Ken then showed me his Wiggy bag… I am sorry that I do not know the name of it, but I remember it was black and a mummy-style bag. He was most impressed with it but he was also impressed with the stuff sack, as he stuffed the sleeping bag into the sack. I couldn’t believe how small he was able to get it.
It was interesting because at the time, I thought that name (Wiggy’s) was so funny that Ken must have been pulling my leg. Later, after Ken died, and I was in a position to buy a quality bag, I remembered what he said almost 25 years ago and pulled Wiggy’s up on the internet. On your website, you provided so much information, and explained it so it was easy to follow and to understand your reasoning. It really helped to buy the bag I was looking for.
So without further ado, I wanted to thank you again.
Take care,

Wiggy,
Pneugear (Envirogear) did make a "Cocoon" down-filled sleeping bag which claimed -45 F capabilities: I never used it to that extreme; however, given that I never came close to fully inflating it, my best guess is that it would have worked to -45 F or close to it. Very high quality but also very expensive: the company was in business for several years but went bankrupt.
I used the Pneugear/EnviroGear "Extreme" model in Alaska's Brooks Range and it performed exceptionally well but I have always slept much more comfortably in my Wiggy's bag. Now I only use Wiggy's!
I subsequently used my Wiggy's bag/bivi sack (non-breathable/impermeable) for 19 days in Alaska's Chugach Mountains (Nelchina Glacier) and both performed flawlessly. One night it rained and drizzled the entire night. When I awoke I slipped my hand between the top of the bag and the overlying bivi layer and the top of the bag was damp: my initial thought was that I was in trouble with a wet bag; however, I was toasty and the rest of the bag was completely dry.
My Wiggy's bag/bivi combo had performed exactly as you advertise: perspiration had traveled thru the Lamilite to the top of the bag and was stopped from further ex-filtration by the impermeable barrier of the bivi sack. The bag itself was completely dry except for the top which had been dampened by perspiration collected throughout the night: the moisture had nowhere else to go. Long story short is that the dampness soon dried once I exited the bag and separated it from the bivi sack.
Wiggy's quality gear works as advertised. Keep up the great work and feel free to use my comments as you see fit!

Dear Sir,
Just wanted to let you know what a blessing the insulated Booties are for my Wife.
She contracted a very rare but terrible disease known as Polymyositis; it is unknown how she contracted it and there is no known cure. A side effect of her medications (temporarily effective) is gross water retention; which settles in her lower legs and feet.
The swelling distorts the shape of her feet to the extent that regular footwear must be extensively modified (cut) in order to even get them on her feet. Then the water seepage through her skin, reacting with the leather and other synthetic materials produces a terrible foot order. Medicated foot powder helps but....... and even then the shoes are not comfortable on her tender feet and always cold.
Anyway, two weeks ago her new Wiggy's Booties arrived. WOW! What an improvement. They slide right on. Instant warmth and comfort! Excellent traction when moving about using her walker, providing great peace of mind. (She can only walk about 15 yards at a time, four times a day.)
Icing on the cake, no odor! None. Nice to know they can be washed as needed.
We are so pleased with this product, two more pair were ordered and picked up at the Post Office today.
Thank you!
Sincerely,
Commander Watkins

Dear Wiggy,
I work professionally all over Alaska and have been using your sleeping bags and winter gear for many years.
I am in the Arctic each month and fly out on bush aircraft to remote locations all over the North Slope and the Brooks Range. When flying in the winter, I make sure I have all my arctic gear on because in the event of a crash, you wont have an opportunity to find your gear in the belly pod of a Cessna 208 Turbine Caravan. All of my survival gear is also located in my parka and bibs: PLB, rescue laser, strap cutter to cut my way out of the seat belts, and an impact tool to get out of the aircraft. A survival pack is also next to my person on board the aircraft. The continuous filament Lamilite is tops. I also have your pack liners in my boots as well as your Lamilite socks. For sleeping bags, I have an Ultimate Thule and a Superlite. When combined with a bivy sack and a foam pad, I can at least stay alive until rescued. Recently, A 208 went down on the way to Anaktuvuk Pass in the Brooks Range. Everyone survived due to the skill of the pilot, although there were serious injuries. Luckily, I wasn't on that flight, although AKP is a regular travel destination.

Jerry, I am sending you this e-mail because I believe you are genuinely interested in feedback on Wiggy’s products.
In Dec.2014,I purchased from you Pack Boots with the necessary lamilite insulators.
My doctor tells me I am a diabetic, consequently the digits (toes and finger tips) get cold extremely fast.
I am amazed at how warm my feet are inside these boots with the lamilite insulators.
I remember conversing with you before my purchase and you instructed me on how to use the boots and you were
right on with your instructions.
Prior to my purchase I have tried just about everything to keep my feet warm and none of them could even come close to your product.
Now when anyone asks me about warm winter products I steer them to the Wiggy’s web site;and tell them Wiggy’s is the best I have ever used.
Forget about Northface, etc. Wiggy’s is the best.
Thank-you for one of the greatest American made products ever!
PS: I also have the Wiiggy’s sweater(jacket) with lamilite;and this the warmest jacket I own bar none.
I have completely forgotten about NorthFace,Eddie Bauer,etc.
Matter of fact when I see someone wearing a NorthFace winter coat and they are shivering;I just smile and whisper Wiggy’s
they look at me like what did I just say;but hardly any of them will make an effort to clarify what I said(Michiganders);they are stuck
with their “in-crowd”ignorance.

Happy New Year to you,
I don't remember the year I discovered your sleeping bags but I can tell you I had spent alot of money on bags and not one performed to my expectations. I have 5 sons and two daughters and giving them an Ultima thule with the two bags has become a right of passage as much as earning your 30-06 deer rifle in our family. I have been on some cold elk hunts with my older sons and we never worried where we ended the day as we knew that wherever it was we were sleeping warm. We traveled in the minimalist style and usually just folded a tarp under and over our bags. One year hunting elk with my Father he slept inside his truck and was cold all night. When he looked out he couldn't see me as it had snowed over 12 inches. I slept very warm.
I had told one of my married sons about your instore discount in Grand jct. He lives in another state and sometimes travels to G jct to shop. He called me all excited and told me how this kind of onery guy helped him get everything he was looking for. I guess while he was waiting he figured out from pictutes on the wall that the actual owner was the one helping him. He couldn't believe that he could get that level of service anywhere. I told him when your the very best at what you do you can be that way. ( a little onery ) Thank you for changing the way our family views bad weather. The weather is only bad if you don't have Wiggys gear. You will soon have three generations of my family sleeping in Wiggy bags as I have 9 granchildren. Thank you again,a satisfied customer for life. Carson Tait

You can count on one hand how many times I've taken the time to write a good review on something. Normally, it seems like I only make the time to write when I'm unhappy. I pretty much expect good customer service. However, in this case I felt compelled to share with those who may be interested. My wife purchased me a Hunter Antartic Rectangular Sleeping Bag for Christmas. It's rated for -60 degrees. It is a large thick sleeping bag. Exactly what I would expect for a sleeping bag like this. When it came, I opened it and had plenty of room to turn over when lying inside. I could tell that it will keep me a lot warmer than the old bag I used in Alaska this last September. When I tried to put it into the stuff sack provided, I just couldn't get it to fit. I called Wiggy's and left a message requesting a call back. It wasn't very long before I received a call from Jimmy. He told me not to roll it and to start at the bottom of the bag and just start stuffing it into the stuff sack. This worked a lot better, I was able to get got most of it into the sack, but was having a tough time getting the last foot or so of the sleeping bag in. It took all I had to get the last part of the bag into the sack. The next day I got another call from Jimmy asking me about the stuff sack. I explained to him that I managed to get it into the sack, but it took all I had to do it. I told him I had a XXL stuff sack. Without even asking he told me he would send me a XXXL stuff sack and that should make things a lot easier. I just got the new stuff sack in the mail today and transferred my new sleeping bag into it without any difficulty at all. The extra stuff sack Jimmy sent me costs $42.00, not counting the $3.07 it cost them to mail it to me. That's what I call excellent customer service. Thank you Jimmy.
