Send Us an eMailHi Wiggys crew,
The new site looks great!
Just wanted to take a minute and thank you for your work.
From the Antarctic Bag & Mitts, our beautiful white Fossil Ridge Parkas & Bibs, Mukluks, even the booties & other odds & ends… these have all become my favorite things, because they’re the equipment depend on with full confidence. Amazing warmth, breathability and comfort, rugged durability, washability, and the quality of your company itself, standing behind your products & even accommodating custom orders; there is just no one like you guys.
You’ve made winter my favorite time of year. Now when it’s -35, I grab a book, my gear & snowshoes, head out wherever, and enjoy the sunshine and fresh air in total comfort. I’ve used your gear winter camping & adventuring up into canada, climbing up/sliding down snow, ice, rocks & dirt, been blown across Lake Superior on my face in ice squalls and after the initial shock, even enjoyed the experience of getting run over by the freight train whiteout hurricane, completely warm & protected. Somehow, this stuff shows no wear yet! I don’t get it, but I love it.
I can’t thank you enough for the excellent equipment and your willingness to do custom work to make everything perfect for your customers.
Sincerely,
Pete Doering
Here are a few pics of places your gear has allowed me to go...
Mr. Wigutow,
In August of this year I completed my Alaskan caribou hunt that I discussed in my first email back in April, 2014. During the trip, I utilized the Super Light bag that I purchased on your advice. I had the FTRSS with me but I did not need it! I used it as an extra sleeping bag since the Super Light was plenty warm; for short periods I slept with bare feet and was plenty warm. I was able to dry out most of my clothes just by either wearing them in the bag or stuffing them inside while I was in it. My buddies with cheap bags never could dry their clothes and they were miserable. I did not take your ground pad with me since we had an outfitter camp package that included (cheap USGI-type) sleeping pads.
I also wore daily your 9” socks and jacket liner. They worked very well in keeping me warm and dry. The socks were very comfortable during the 40-plus miles I walked while on the hunt. In the attached photo I was wearing the jacket inside out as 'tundra camo.' It worked well in that regard.
Anyways, thank you for the great advice and for the great products.

I think I bought my Ultima Thule back in like 1997 and it's still my go to bag in the winter time here in Colorado. Over New Year's eve I backpacked up Pikes Peak and camped inside Monty's Rock Pile just below Barr Camp. The temp at night was around 5 below zero and I slept toasty warm thanks to your bag. Thanks Jerry.

[Here's a picture of] your awsome waders at work. 3rd season on them and of course they were trashed by the end of last season, but a few patches got us through this season. They sure do make crossing streams with sheep meat on your back a little nicer. Thanks again and keep up the good work.

Dear Mr. Wigutow,
I am your typical "weekend warrior" dad, 48 years old, working hard to put two girls through college and maintain some balance in my life. Part of that "balance" is getting into the woods of Pennsylvania whenever I have some free time. Turns out one of those times was the weekend of October 2nd, yep, the weekend hurricane Joaquin hit the east coast. Needless to say the two days on the trail were WET! From an all day mist on Friday to driving rain tapering off the mist on Saturday. Luckily I brought your FTRSS Overbag. I dove into the bag wet and cold, rain dripped on me most of the night and I had one of the best nights sleep in the woods I have ever had! I woke up warm and dry, especially my feet. The worst part of the experience was that I was SO dry and comfortable that I didn't want to get out of the bag!
Thank you for keeping me dry making such a superior product that lives up to its specs!
Regards,
Matt

I bought a Super Light around three years ago. 14 months ago I had a friend tell me he could get me hired on working the oil fields of New Mexico. I bought a pick up truck and travel trailer and I have been working and living on an oil lease since then. I have slept in my Wiggy's Super light every night since I got here. I'm hooked up to a generator so electricity is free. Through out the summer I keep the temperature in my trailer at 60 degrees. I unzip the bag, stick my feet in the bottom of the bag and use it like a blanket and sleep comfortably. The bad thing about my trailer is it has no heater. I still sleep comfortably even on the coldest winters nights. There was more than a few nights that the temperature dropped below zero and I have never been even the slightest bit uncomfortable while zipped up in my Wiggys Super Light. And my bag still is in perfect condition. When the temperature drops below freezing, I usually throw my bag in my truck when I start my day in case I were to have car trouble. I take care of 13 oil wells that are spaced out in an area of 100 square miles. The closest gas station, house, store is over 60 miles away. i know, no matter what the situation might be, If I have my Super Light, Im not going to freeze to death. Thank you for making such a great product.
Sincerely
Brian

This past winter was particularly cold & uber snowy-even by upstate NY standards where I live. I will admit I like the winter (I'm weird like that.) I'm particularly fond of uninsulated Bean boots-great flexibility, tough as hell, etc. I've got plenty of super insulated boots, but find them a pain to drive in, not to mention HEAVY. Last fall I bought 2 pair of Lamilite socks & wore them as Jerry suggested-just over bare feet w/ no other layers. That combo along with a pair of felt insoles got me through the entire winter (temps sometimes hitting -25F) in complete comfort. I shouldn't have been surprised-seeing as how much other Lamilite gear I've bought over the years. Way to go, Jerry!

Hi, Wiggy's!
I'm a writer and mountain guide, and I've just discovered your products. I think I'm in love.
I used one of your bags last week during a 146-mile kayaking trip on the Columbia River Water Trail, where — despite rain, hail, and horrible winds — I was warm and dry every night. There are photos from our trip on my website: www.charlotteaustin.com/crwt2014.
I absolutely believe in your products, and I'd love to help spread the word. Do you ever have guest bloggers?
Thank you so much, guys. Keep up the good work.

I recieved my new bag yesterday and opened it last night. It looks GREAT, and I look forward to many years with it. Thanks for the left zip, and fast service. Not many companies are that customer oriented anymore.

Well you have done it. made me a person who will pass up all the wonderful "end of season" deals on all kinds of Cabela's deals. Why, you may ask? Because I don't to waste my money on sub "Wiggys" gear. Just last week when in Dicks sporting goods I tried on a "New" fleece that had what was a reflective survival blanked sewn in as a liner. I was a little cold in the store so I put it on. 10 mins later I was no warmer. wow that stuff must really be a wonder out in the snow.
My wife has one of your WAC coats you were selling in Sweden (I believe), but ended up on Ebay here (as steal at $50 only with I could find on in my size also) she hated it at first because of the patches Which she took off, then hated how shinny the jacket was. She loves her Wiggys sweater for backpacking but yuk this jacket! Well her long down coat blew out the zipper and long story short, she now loves her "Coat" as well.
I have written you over the years and will be retiring from the Army this year and start working as the dean of students / Wilderness program leader at a school and Ranch in Fishtail Mt. I am looking forward to continuing our relationship there as I work to make sure no student or staff member ever buys anything other then Wiggys gear if you offer it and you have it in their size

Dear Wiggy's:
I just wanted to take time to thank you for supporting the United States Snowshoe Association. I recently competed in the national championships in Bend, Oregon, and was the lucky recipient of a pair of your Horizon gloves in a raffle. I spend quite a bit of time in Yellowstone volunteering with the wolf project, and your winter gear has come in handy on many -20° F days and colder! I also have used some of your gear dog sledding in Alaska. We really appreciate your support of the USSSA. Thanks again!
Sincerely,
– Mark Rickman
I just wanted to say thank you for an outstanding product and customer service that is unparalleled, and unfortunately, unheard of anymore. I know of no other company that stands behind its products like you do…and for good reason. Your products outwork and outlast all others. I just can not say enough about your company. Thank you, truly.

Hey Jerry,
Thanks for the reply. Not every day you get the owner to email back.
I purchased one of your bags about 11 years ago when I was getting ready to ship out to Oman. I was in the Air Force back then and we were flying missions into Afghanistan and I needed something light and compact to take with me for all the wonderful nights spent in the tent where I did my sleeping. I am not sure about all the Wiggys-haters, but I do know that your bag was well used and stood up to much abuse. Not many bag makers can make the same claim. Now, 11 years later I am retired and that bag is still thrown in the camper and used on occasion and it is still in great condition. I plan on getting many more years out of that bag.
On second thought, I am going to give that one to my son and buy a brand new one. I don't know how you can make such a quality product for such a great price, with a great guarantee to boot, but I thank you for that.
Again, thanks for your prompt reply
– Doug
Mr. Wigutow,
We just returned from our vacation and I just have to tell you, my 5 year old son was soooo upset when I discussed with him that we had to return his first sleeping bag, because I felt that it was not safe for him to sleep in. As he watched me place the order on your website, he seemed to be a little bit better. However, he was VERY concerned that the bags would not arrive before we left for our trip. On Saturday, when we were packing up the truck and nothing had arrived, he again got very upset that he would not have a sleeping bag to sleep in knowing we were leaving the next morning.
I must send you a BIG thank you from the bottom of my heart, for getting those bags to us with a Saturday delivery from FED-Ex. You would have thought Santa himself made the delivery. The delight in my child's eye was priceless and he was so excited to sleep in it that night.
As a parent I am grateful to be able to purchase a product that I feel my child is safe sleeping in without added chemicals. As an American, I am proud to be able buy "Made in America" products. My son even noticed the American flag on your label and said, "Look Mommy, it's our Flag" .
Sincerely,
– Steffany Mathis Haertsch
