v
BERRY AMENDMENT
“The U.S. Senate adopted its version of the NDAA Oct. 9. The Senate’s version did not include language to eliminate the Simplified Acquisition Threshold (SAT) level under the Berry Amendment. The SAT allows the purchase of foreign-made military textiles for Department of War contracts below $150,000. The House’s version, however, did.”
I was under the impression that the department of war was supposed to buy all textile products made in America with components made in America. Silly me!!!
I have received solicitations from many gsa contractors asking if what I make is berry compliant. My response is always “YES”. I almost never get the order. These orders are never near $150,000.00, a high amount might be $40,000.00, but most do not exceed $20,000.00.
Now if I am asked for a price, I refuse to give them one, I say look at my web site.
I know why I never get the orders.
