lamilite/climashield simply the best

First off it makes my stomach turn seeing those bags burn, although I know it’s necessary to demonstrate. How on earth has the DoD not adopted these as the STANDARD. It demonstrates what a Bureaucratic mess they are. I own an Ultralight, Superlight and 2 FTRSS over bags. In Vermont owning a +35F overbag and one each of the 0F and 20F gives you comfort/protection down to -40F by utilizing the modular design. Use only the bags you need given the temp. I used different colors to aid in quick ID of the bags (green, black and brown). Can’t say enough. I’ve reprogrammed my thinking on insulation and staying warm. I’ve stopped using vapor barrier membranes and fleeces. Lamilite is truly the warmest insulation I’ve used. Thanks Jerry.

Damnit Wiggy you've done it again! Today is our 30th anniversary and being as we like the woods and needed a better Parka than the ones we had, we ordered two of your Antarctic Parkas, Urban Ducksback, one XXL and one SM. I was concerned as at first you didn't think you had any and there would be a two-week delay! I called and spoke with a very nice Lady who checked the status of my order and said that my entire order of the two Parkas, one 84" luxurious ground pad and a Tekfire Lighter should be here today!!! It seems that someone, (Bless their kindness), found the Parkas, packed everything up and got it to us on our 30th!

You must stop this being so nice, having the people that work for you going out of their way to please customers, your Customer Service personnel that are nice and ACTUALLY CARE ABOUT YOUR CUSTOMERS!!! These days we're used to a long wait, going through "robots" that try their best to make us hang up and when a CS Rep finally comes on the line you can't understand them! I must insist that you stop all of the things that make people shout your praises and come back again and again! Who remain loyal to you through all the BS that's flying around these days! How dare you actually give a damn about your customers and make sure that your products perform as you say they will!

That's another complaint about you and your products! You must immediately stop under stating how your products perform! We've been customers for years and have bought two complete FTRSS systems, two ground pads, two pairs of your Lamilite socks, two pair of boots, (one pair years ago Herman Survivors), just bought a pair of your new models, and other items all of which are actually BETTER THAN YOU DESCRIBE WITHOUT EXCEPTION! Wiggy this has to stop! You need to be slow in filling and shipping orders! Your CS Agents need to be surly and lie about when a shipment should arrive. Best advice is you must embrace Goretex and push that rotten, worthless, POS crap on all of your customers!

All in all you, your personnel, your products, (that ALWAYS outperforms every description that you post), your fight to get the best equipment you can possibly make to our Troops all over the world, your fight to get the public and government to see and test what you say, makes you one hell of a fine Man, one that I'm proud to "show and tell" your gear to all of our families and friends! Please keep up the fine work and never let the bastards get you down!

Very best regards,

I am running out of words to express my gratitude to the many, many people who are so supportive of Wiggy’s products and services.

Today I had the surprise of a lifetime. As I have published working with the Air Force on their vacuum-packed survival kits for many years, I introduced the B-52 survival kit to the survival equipment people while visiting me from Eielson AFB Alaska about 2 months ago. We were able to vacuum pack the components to fit the new F-35 survival kit.

In the meantime they purchase 4 complete kits un-vacuum packed for testing. What follows is an article I received from one of the men who visited me. It is being reprinted from the PACIFIC AIR FORCES PUBLICATION.

EIELSON AIR FORCE BASE, Alaska --

U.S. Airmen assigned to the 354th Fighter Wing tested a new arctic survival kit for the F-35A Lightning II in downtown Fairbanks, Alaska, Nov. 5.

A team of Airmen from the 356th Fighter Squadron, F-35 Program Integration Office, 354th Operation Support Squadron Aircrew Flight Equipment and 66th Training Squadron, Detachment 1, used a subzero chamber to replicate the extreme temperatures of interior Alaska.

The test was performed because the current arctic survival kit won’t fit in the allotted space under the seat of an F-35A. The 354th FW is expecting to receive its first F-35A in April of 2019.

“We are testing the kit that Tech. Sgt. John Williams, Tech. Sgt. Benjamin Ferguson and myself have developed over the last year in preparation for the integration of the F-35,” said Tech. Sgt. Garret Wright, 66th TS, Det. 1 Arctic Survival School noncommissioned officer in charge of operations.

Four members of the team, to include Lt. Col. James Christensen, commander of the reactivated 356th Fighter Squadron, stepped into two separate chambers, one at minus 20 and the other at minus 40, wearing standard cold-weather gear issued to pilots. Once inside the chambers, the test observers timed how long it took them to don the specialized winter gear from their survival kit.

After the gear was on, the Icemen lived up to their name and stayed in the chamber for six hours. Wright recorded their condition every 30 minutes to ensure the safety and accuracy of the test.

Approximately five hours into the test, Wright noticed the temperature on the digital thermometer didn’t seem accurate in one of the chambers. He found a mercury-based thermometer and discovered the temperature one of the chambers was at minus 65 and the other was minus 51.

“After realizing that the ambient room temperature was at minus 65 at the five-hour mark, I knew that we had accomplished far more than we originally set out to,” Wright said. “Wing leaders wanted a product that would keep pilots alive at minus 40 and although unplanned, the findings were clear that the sleep system could far surpass this goal."

After six cold hours, the Icemen stepped out of the subzero chamber and spoke with the survival, evasion, reconnaissance, and escape specialists and the AFE team to address discrepancies and better ways to utilize the equipment.

“The gear was great. There were a couple of minor tweaks that I think we could make to it to improve it but overall it was solid,” said Staff Sgt. Zachary Rumke, 66th TS, Det. 1, Artic Survival School instructor.

After the debrief, the four Icemen agreed the equipment is more than capable of withstanding the harsh temperatures of the Alaskan landscape and said they would feel safe knowing they had this gear to help them survive in one of the world’s most extreme environments.

Now maybe some in the other military branches will standup and take notice about the insulating performance of Lamilite. All of the items that make up the B-52 survival kit are insulated with the L-6 Lamilite. I use the L-6 in my over bag, desert bag and nautilus bag and rate these items to PLUS 35 degrees F and the Air Force has tested them to -65 F after 5 hours.

ONE LAST COMMENT; THE SURVIVAL SCHOOL REFERENCED HAS BEEN USING MY ANTARCTIC BAGS FOR 25 YEARS OR MORE.

There is NO other form of insulation on the planet; be it primaloft, softie, aerogel, micro balls, or any quality of down that comes even close to and I hate to use the name in the same sentence because these products I have mentioned are not insulations but I will and it is LAMILITE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ever since 1968 when the factory named Camden Fiber Mills stated making continuous filament fiber which was named Polar Guard, I recognized that it was without question the finest form of material for insulation purposes made. Today as I have mentioned numerous times the Climashield continuous filament which I use as I have also mentioned numerous times happens to be a far better more refined product than the Polar Guard was.

All of the companies that chose to try to better the Climashield are just p****** in the wind. They can look far and wide in China or any other Asian country and all they will find is what they are presently using the cheapest quality chopped staple fiber known to mankind.

When all is said and done Wiggy’s will still be making the very best sleeping bags the world has ever seen and the warmest clothing all because “Climashield is simply the best insulation in the world”.
