let us swindle the american taxpayer

Posted by

The following article is being reprinted from SGB online magazine web site. In my opinion this is a colossal swindle of the American taxpayer’s money!!!

SWINDLE according to the dictionary; to obtain by fraud or deceit

Portland, OR, October 17, 2019 – OROS, the brand behind SOLARCORE – a ground-breaking insulation that incorporates aerogel, the least conductive material known to humankind – has recently been awarded a multi-million-dollar subcontract under a Other Transaction Authority prototype agreement (pOTA) from the US Army Combat Capabilities Development Command Soldier Center (CCDC-SC) division of the US Department of Defense and Northeastern University’s Kostas Research Institute (KRI).

Effective immediately, the contract encompasses a 3-year partnership between OROS, Northeastern University and the US Army Combat Capabilities Development Command Soldier Center (CCDC-SC) division of the US Department of Defense and will support OROS as they continue to engineer the best insulation on the planet.

The aerogel fibers may very well be the least conductive material known to mankind but there are numerous materials that are almost equally non-conductive that allow them to be far and away better insulation mediums than aerogel will EVER be. I have never heard of the various government organizations mentioned nor the Kostas Research Institute, but I do know that all combined have very little if any knowledge of what it takes to make an insulating medium. To GIVE a multimillion-dollar sub-contract to the Oros company is like owning a boat. It is a hole in the water into which you throw money. I know since I was a boat owner for 6 years. What the oros company has today they will have in 50 years and it still will not work very well. When I say very well, I mean not below about 40 degrees from what I have seen on the internet.

“OROS has developed an R&D program that is unmatched in the industry. We have created this program with the sole focus of pioneering apparel and tech, so you can push your boundaries,” says Jeff Nash, CTO and VP of Product at OROS. By creating a proprietary technology that integrates aerogel, the same material NASA uses to insulate Mars Rovers, OROS has moved beyond what was previously thought possible in insulation tech.

Jeff Nash is wrong they have an R&D program modeled after gore; its purpose is to try as gore does to prove they have a viable product. I do not know what method is used by NASA to insulate the mars rovers and I really don’t care. There is no atmosphere on mars as there is on earth so whatever NASA has done does not apply on earth. The biggest part of the R&D programs is learning gibberish that is to say being able to say nothing with a multitude of words. His knowledge of insulation is enough to fill a gnat butt maybe.

“This contract will aid OROS’ R&D initiatives and help bring to life OROS’ next-generation insulation tech,” says Michael Markesbery, Co-founder & CEO of OROS, “we are honored to be awarded the contract, as we continue on our mission to pioneer insulation technology.”

This guy marksesbery has equal knowledge as nash about insulation which is to say little or none. From the pictures I have seen on the internet they have a needle punched batting with aerogel fibers blended with polyester fiber. Needle punched battings have been made for 60 years that I know of with polyester fibers. During that time frame they were used as the insulation in ski wear. Why? because they draped very well and the ski wear was as it is today very fashionable, however people both male and female froze in those garments. That brought about a huge volume of down parka sales for the next few years I believe starting in about 1968. I can tell you if the continuous filament fiber were to be needled it would not perform any better than chopped staple fiberfill does with or without the aerogel fibers. These clowns nash and markesbery don’t know that. There is no way of using the aerogel fibers by themselves, this in my opinion is a con game. The aerogel fibers are extremely fragile and must be combined with something to make them useable. I do not know what the weight of the polyester to aerogel fiber blend is but I would bet the aerogel is not equal to the polyester. Once you start needling fibers that are intended for use as insulation you destroy a significant amount of the insulation capability. These guys are capable of putting on a dog and pony show that may very well have looked terrific to any of the government employees who have no knowledge of what it takes to make insulation and how it actually works and I believe these guys know that they don’t know either. It is for this reason I believe what they have done fits into the category of swindling the taxpayers.

At its core, OROS believes science moves the world forward. The team will continue to pioneer new technology that revolutionizes experiences in the outdoors and encourages explorers to find their beyond.

Of course they will continue to pioneer with our tax dollars. They will NOT come up with any new technology utilizing the aerogel fibers not any time soon but EVER. They will not revolutionize anything just like gore NEVER revolutionize anything with their bogus product. Aside from this it is known that silica can be dangerous. When you research the companies that make the aerogel, they reference their “PRODUCT AND SAFTEY DATASHEETS”. I have never in my 58 years in the insulation business heard of such a need.

The following is copies right off of the internet.

About Aerogel Insulation. The aerogel part of our high-performance insulation blankets is comprised of synthetic amorphous silica (SAS). The other major ingredient in our products is a non-woven, needled batting comprised of either E-glass fibers or a blend of polyester (PET) fibers and E-glass fibers.

Well what are they using fiber glass or polyester?

What is aerogel?

Imagine a gel (gels are mostly liquid with a 3D solid network to hold them together) where the liquid is replaced with air — that’s aerogel (>98% air). Due to the size of the pores that contain the air, the thermal conductivity of an aerogel is far lower than insulation filled with air. Due to this extremely low thermal conductivity, aerogel insulation can retain its insulation ability even when compressed. This is due to the fact that while you can compress the air out of fibers embedded with aerogel (or in the case of an aerogel sheet, there isn’t much air to compress out), the aerogel itself is not compressed and still provides significant insulation.

The biggest issue with aerogel when it was first developed was that it is rigid and easily breaks into a powder. Since then various advances have given it some flexibility.

It is very obvious that the person who wrote the above paragraph also has no knowledge of insulation, they do not know it IS THE AIR TRAPED BETWEEN THE FIBERS THAT IS THE INSULATION NOT THE FIBERS THAT TRAP IT.

TALK ABOUT SILVER TONGUE DEVILS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

AEROGEL INSULATION IS A SCAM!!!!!!!!!!!!

JUST SO YOU KNOW THEY MAKE ALL OF THEIR GARMENTS IN VIETNAM.

JUST TRY CALLING THEM, YOU HAVE NO CHOICE TO GET THROUGH AS THE TELEPHONE NUMBER ON THE INTERNET IS NON-F
