Loving Testimonials

Posted by

YOU BET I LOVE TESTIMONIALS!

Your comment about loving testimonials motivated me to write this. My wife and I just finished a camping trip to Central California Coast and while only cool and dry, low temps in the mid 40’s with an ocean breeze makes it chilly for suburban wives. But she was toasty warm in her stylish blue Ducksback sweater and slept snugly in her Ultralight with FTRSS overbag. The first night she did not use the overbag and complained cold feet which were quickly fixed by giving her my Lamilite socks. The kids likewise slept soundly in their Ultralight mummy bags. As you can see from the attached photo, my wife is enjoying her Ducksback Sweater and I am comfortable in a custom anorak sweater you made for Mel Terkla a few years ago that I recently acquired from him.

Who wouldn’t love testimonials when they come to you like this? Many thanks to Dan and Krista for their sentiments.

I am very sure that bobby gore has NEVER received a testimonial of this quality, but then again, he has NEVER received a testimonial ever.

WHY I BELIEVE MORE THAN EVER PRODUCTION OF TEXTILE PRODUCTS WILL NEVER COME BACK TO THE U.S OF A.

A few months after the attacks on the Twin Towers I received a call from the Border Patrol Agency in Washington, D.C. He told me they needed these cold weather Antarctic parkas and he was told by Border Patrol in Anchorage, Alaska to buy Wiggy’s. This Border Patrol guy then told me the purchasing of the parkas would not be purchased by the government but an in between company VF Solutions.

VF Solutions is a division of VF Corporation, today owners of North Face (NF) and Timberland and who knows how many other companies with a combined sale of between $12 and $14 billion dollars. Back then they did not own either of these companies.

I did not care who the buyer was so long as it was my parka being bought. This lasted two years. It ended because VF bought NF and they were now supplying their crummy parkas I believe made in China. I never heard from the company again other than a few employees used their own funds to buy direct.

Yesterday a guy from VF calls me about my parkas. I thought maybe they want to start buying them again, not to be. He starts to almost read the riot act to me; why? because the picture of me in my Antarctic parka has the Border Patrol patch on the sleeve. When the picture was taken it was the only parka we had in my size and it had the patch on it. That might have been 2006/7. In all the years that the picture is on the web site I do not think 5 people have recognized it.

So, I told him no problem. It seems one of his co-workers noticed and told him. However, he bought one of the parkas about 4 or 5 weeks ago and he obviously never noticed. Why didn’t he call back then if this was such a problem, he is a lacky and someone above him told him to call me. it has been removed. He came on like a storm trooper or the gestapo. He ask if this was my style number citing it and I said yes but, you should remove it because I will not sell you my parkas. Did he buy my parka for himself or to copy?

I said you get your trash parkas from China now and he defiantly said no they did come from factories in other countries. I said how about getting them made in the states and his response was we did not have the capacity to make what they needed. He further said it was more than the current government contractors were capable of. Wow that many uniforms for Homeland Security which encompasses Border Patrol and many other agencies today would be astounding. Of course, to make what he was referring to would certainly put a lot of people to work. Isn’t that what the president is saying; employee US citizens.

If they are leaving the providing of garments by VF Corporation, they VF will never bring production back to the USA. They could not possibly make the same profits here that they can using Asian labor.

They are not alone, add to the list Columbia Sportswear, Ralph Loren and about 1000 more little guys.

I believe the position that these corporate leaders have will ultimately be the demise of the country.
