Here I want to discuss the primary reason that sets Wiggy’s bags apart from the “no sleep sleeping bags” available from retailers like REI.

It is the Lamilite insulation that sets Wiggy’s apart from them.

When you get into a sleeping bag its purpose is to trap the heat your body is producing. It is the insulation that does that. Your body is also generating moisture which it is doing all the time.

However when you are in a confined area like a sleeping bag you do not want to keep that moisture with you, enter Lamilite.

For those of you looking for sleeping bag it is important to know that all synthetic fiberfill [polyester] is not the same. The synthetic bags available at REI as well as other retailers’ number one do not trap your body heat and consequently do not allow the moisture your body produces to escape while it is still vapor. This means the vapor cools and becomes a liquid. The liquid is trapped in the fiberfill, and this liquid begins to absorb your body heat. [that is number 2.]

The Lamilite has proven for 40 years [that is how long Wiggy’s is in business] and how long Wiggy’s has been making their sleeping bags as well as other insulated products using Lamilite.

All of the synthetic bags sold by retailers are filled with chopped staple fiber of unknown origin [China I guess.] Lamilite is made in the USA. Lamilite is a first quality silicone treated continuous filament polyester fiberfill.

Because of its efficiency to trap the heat your body produces it keeps the moist vapor in a vapor state as it rises out of your Wiggy’s sleeping bag. The end result is staying warm and dry and sleeping.

Thia action I have just explained does not take place with any other product called a sleeping bag. It does not happen with any down bag.
