POLARTEC

For many years I have made a choice to refrain from writing about Polartec fleece material. Years ago, I pointed out that all of the fleece materials were the same regardless of name brand. I am endeavoring to do so again because they are offering a bogus product as goretex did before them.

AirCore™ delivers real air permeability, and full water repellency.

What you have just read is fictitious. This material is fleece laminated [laminate engineered] to a film or as they say membrane that in theory allows the moisture out of the garment made with this fabric [air permeability] so you stay dry, but in the event, it is raining it repels the rainwater.

We are now told that the membrane is alive, if it weren’t how could it breathe. More fictitious language that is “beautifully “stated.

I have never been a fan so to speak of Polartec or any other fleece product. The hair follicles that are made when the fleece is made trap the moisture which draws heat from your body and restricts movement. My liner vest and jacket do everything that the Polartec geniuses have pointed out. Of course, the Lamilite insulated garments I make have no membrane in them. They just allow moisture out and any garment worn over them keeps out the rain.
