RESPONSE TO LAST NIGHTS NEWSLETTER

 Jerry,

The only testimonial you need is from your customers like me. In 2006, 3 others and I were planning an unguided caribou hunt out of Kotzebue Alaska.  I researched the best sleeping bags available and yours

were at the top of the list.  I had your custom make 4 Antarctic mummy bags with 100-inch length. All 4 of us absolutely loved your bags and our outfitter commented that we bought the best.

I used to believe that down bags were the best, their advertisers did a good job.  Hence in my rookie days I ordered an Eddie Bauer Mt. Everest down bag, the best he had.  The brass zipper gave me fits from day one.  It’s very heavy, bulky and doesn’t loft up well after being compressed.  Your bags are so much different.

I gave my grandson one of your ultra-light bags for Christmas. He went camping with 3 buddies and they froze all night in their Walmart bags, my grandson said he was toasty while they were all complaining.

We, the consumers, are your best advertisers, we seek out what works and we seek out the best!

You, Sir, do the best and they WORK!

In looking back, I paid $260 for the Mt Everest down bag and that was in the 1980s.  Your bags are such a bargain today with similar prices I paid 40 plus years ago!

You are to be congratulated.

THANK YOU ROGER

I’ve got an ultra-light I bought in 1997. 29 years and going strong. I’ve laundered it countless times, after every use.  What an awesome bag.

Best Regards,

Don Kinser

THANK YOU, DON,

Getting responses from customers who read my newsletters is a constant increase to my knowledge of how they use their sleeping bags.

And of course, I enjoy sharing their stories as well with my readers.

One of the things I really enjoy is when someone like Don states that he has been laundering his bag “countless” times. I have said from Wiggy’s beginnings “when you buy a Wiggy bag you should launder it often when it is getting lots of use.

There are times as owner of a Wiggy bag says it is after 15 years of use it is not as lofty. I ask if it has been laundered as the answer is no, I then tell them to launder it and dry it in the dryer two or three times. They told me they didn’t know it could be laundered. I never hear from them again. My suspicion is they did what I told them to do to find their bag lofted again.

Wiggy bags are vacuum packed by us to supply these bags as well as the survival suit, I make for the Airforce under 20 tons of pressure and when taken out of the blister packaging the loft begins to return.

Years ago before I was a manufacturer I noted that the down bag manufacturers gave a large storage bag with their down bags. Why [?] because as they said, because you didn’t want to store the bag in the stuff sack which would damage the down. When these same manufacturers started making their Polar Guard bags, again they gave a large storage bag with the [so called] sleeping bag for the same reason, not wanting to damage the Polar Guard. And here I am vacuum packing sleeping bags made with continuous filament fiber, the same fiber that Polar Guard was made from.

Today Wiggy’s Inc. stands alone as the only company in the USA who sells sleeping bags using continuous filament fiber to make Lamilite.

Every brand of no sleep sleeping bags that comes out of Asia or Europe has chopped staple fiber fill which will lose its loft from repeated stuffing in the stuff sack you get with the bag, and you realize if you were foolish enough to buy one that it loses its loft very quickly. Of course, based upon my knowledge of fiberfill fibers when Dpont and Celanese were pricing them they were first quality. Today what is produced in Asia for fiberfill use is the cheapest they can make. Do not even think one of these bags can be laundered.

Enough said!!!
