GRATUTDE FOR THE BOOT INDUSTRY

I have for a number of years presented to the consuming public factual information demonstrating there are boots for all purposes that have goretex and thinsulate in them that do not perform as advertised. The fact that this information has been published, for one and all to read, has not changed the minds of boot manufacturers to look at materials that will make their product better. Therefore I owe them a debt of gratitude.

All I have seen thus far in early promotion in the boot industry is the reality that pretty much all of the company’s marketing boots are still installing each of these materials in the boots they sell.

Their action has a very positive affect of products sold by Wiggy’s. Product number one are the Lamilite socks. Thus far a number of Lamilite sock customers have purchased Lamilite socks to wear while wearing boots they already own that have the above mentioned components in them. These customers have learned that the sweat from their feet does migrate through the Lamilite away from their skin surface, it does not get out of the boot but having a dry skin helps to keep their feet much warmer than wearing wool socks that retain all the sweat because the wool absorbs the sweat and it builds all day long. The very end result IS cold feet because the moisture trapped in the boot gets cold. The Lamilite socks aid in preventing this sensation.

Sales of Lamilite insulated boots have finally developed. It has been a struggle over the past maybe 20 years. The first company I worked with was Herman Survivors who went out of business. They made the first Lamilite insulated boots for me in Poland. Excellent boot with a sole that was sewn on so it could be replaced! I am sure there are a number of men still wearing them to this day.

The second company was Wellco located in Waynesville N.C. They made boots that were okay and I say okay because they had a molded on sole. But they too went out of business.

Company three was Belleville who is mostly military. I thought they might take the opportunity to show Lamilite insulated linings to the military, but not to be. I was doing okay with their boots until they decided not to fill reorders.

Now I have an excellent factory making the boots with sewn on soles which is very much appreciated by all who have purchased them. Sales have been robust because a number of buyers previously owned Lamilite boots. I have published all of the comments i.e. testimonials that I have received since offering them. Even though it states on the web site that you receive a pair of Lamilite socks with each purchase some ask to make sure they will get the free pair of socks.

Unfortunately products regardless of how good they are take time to take hold in the market place. However, if you are a multimillion dollar company and spend millions advertising your product you can capture a place in the market much more quickly even if the product is garbage.

But I look at the bright side of this situation. The more of the “let us freeze the customers feet” boot makers sell that means the more socks I will sell. I also believe I will ultimately sell more boots. Sales this winter have exceeded my expectations. Again looking at the bright side of what other companies are doing leads me, to have confidence that sales will continue to grow.

I have noted that one well-known brand of hiking boots is showing a number of models which will I expect cause the buyers of these boots foot problems. Remember the fellow who wore some brand of hiking boot lined with goretex and the skin on the bottom of his feet separated from the fat layer that protects your feet from bumps etc. I am sure if you do the research on line you will be able to find the video.

The prevailing attitude of people throughout the outdoor industry seems to be let us not “THINK” about what we are doing and just do something regardless of the consequences to our customers. What are the consequences aside from wasting money on a non-functioning product but also foot problem’s?

The choice of boots to buy is relegated to one brand that is truthfully represented by the company selling them!!! LAMILITE BOOTS!!!

ONE LAST COMMENT

As you know Colorado is one of the states that have legalized the sale of marijuana. The outdoor retailer show moved here, is it possible this is the reason?
