I agree with Jerry that these bags are the best solo camping setup available. Not only do you get a sleeping bag…. you also get a blanket, a poncho, a short coat, and a long coat in one item.
I’ve used these bags while camping in the original ECOTATs, Wiggy’s Freedom Shelters, a Dutch hooped bivy, and a Catoma Wolverine. The Freedom Shelters Bags are perfect for these setups (and I’m sure for hammocks as well) as the center zipper allows for easy in and out access. Also, the poncho and coat configurations are great for cold and windy days.
I love these bags so much that I’ve purchased all three versions that Wiggy’s currently offers as well as one of the original woodland camo ECOTAT bags that Wiggy’s produced for Marine Corps Colonel Dick Haislip. All four bags are of outstanding quality and the original ECOTAT bag has really stood the test of time. After decades of use and compression it’s still like brand new.
A stroke of genius invented these multifunctional bags and expert workmanship and quality components have made them multigenerational. I fully expect that my son will still be using these bags long after I’m gone. These bags are investments.
