A NEW VIDEO, THE B-52 SURVIVAL KIT

I have a new video about the survival kit originally created for the B-52 bombers that was written about in two Air Force publications as well as the Popular Mechanics magazine in the month of March 2019 issue that was tested at Eielson AFB, Alaska cold chamber.

The video shows how small I am able to vacuum pack all items in one package. However, when I vacuum pack these items specifically for the B-52 they were in two vacuum packed shapes to fit their ejection seat kits.

For the B-1 and B-2 as well as all of the aircraft that have the ACES TWO ejection seat’s we have a single vacuum-packed kit. The F-35 fighters will have all of the same items only in a different vacuum-packed kit. Their kit requires that we have 3 vacuum packed packages.

The more I have learned from the Air Force test the more I think about the many people who fly their own planes in cold country and believe they should make the investment in this system. I do not think they need it vacuum packed but a compression stuff sack will suffice. In this way it can be used anytime. If it were vacuum packed it would be smaller but breaking it out of the vacuum packing would be for a necessary situation.

Generally private pilots will have a sleeping bag on board which is fine because they are using them often. The problem with a sleeping bag is if you have to move due to a catastrophe you have to carry it whereas with the B-52 survival kit you wear it. Remember you are wearing it over the clothing you are wearing so the clothing from the kit is increasing the heat retention of your body heat is shown I believe based upon the Air Force test as considerable.

As I state in the video which is available for viewing at this time on the web site the Lamilite once again surprises me with its insulating capabilities. Exactly how well it insulates cannot be tested on any machine because it performs so well for people in so many situations in my opinion makes it a remarkable insulating material. There is nothing and I mean nothing on the planet that is in any way shape of form even close to being comparable.

I see people here in grand junction every day wearing the famous name branded quilted jackets that are not much more than tissue thing and when these people walk into a grocery store, they never open the zipper because they are still chilled from the outside air of maybe 40 degrees. what they do not understand is the fact that the moisture they have given off that is trapped in their clothing and because it has cooled it is trying to warm up by absorbing their body heat. These garments are also basically form fitting so the moisture has no easy access if at all from the garment. Please refer to the comments I quoted from Gerry Cunningham in my previous article “what size jacket to wear”.

Some of the people both men and women apparently have known knowledge of what size garment to buy and they also think they are still the size they were in high school. These garments are so form fitting that there is no air circulation of air capable of taking place in the garment. But they like the “style” regardless if they are warm or not.

Here is the most recent dialogue between me and the IG at the Marine Corpse.
