MORE SOCK TESTIMONIALS AND MORE

1-YOU ARE ABSOLUTELY RIGHT, AGAIN! I HAVE THE VERY BOOT AND THE LAMILITE SOCKS THAT I WEAR AT THIS TIME OF YEAR DOING YARD WORK. DEALING WITH TONS OF WET LEAVES WOULD LEAVE MY LEATHER BOOTS SOAKED, BUT NOT WITH THE LL BEAN PACS. NOW MY FEET STAY DRY AND WITH YOUR SOCKS, DRY ALSO. I TESTED THEM WHEN I GOT THEM. ONE FOOT--WOOL SOCK, AND THE OTHER LAMILITE. YOU WIN AGAIN!

DALLEN BOUNDS

Dallen I guess wanted to shout his praise for the socks. He has been a customer for about 26 years as far as I can calculate.

2-Jerry,

I recently purchased the Coyote Ultra Lite and the matching

Overbag (FTSS), Booties, and socks.

I have already told my wife “you are looking at the only sleeping bag system I'll ever need to buy again - ever!" I also told her that my decades old North Face Cat’s Meow, my SlumberJack mid temp bag, and another North Face 0 degree bag can go!

First- the bags - absolutely properly rated and though I haven't experienced minus 40 use as yet, I can completely attest to the warmth, dryness, "drape ability", zippers, seems, and sizes, and workmanship are simply, scientifically, and from a practical standpoint- the best ever and I have owned a lot of bags. Not just those I mentioned but Marmot, Everest, and others. Lamilite and the Wiggy's bags have them beat in all aspects.

The socks- I ride a 2007 Harley Davidson Road King. I rode a Patriot Guard Mission recently. I wore my usual leather gear; leather Chaps, jacket, and heated gloves. On my feet was only a pair of Dr. Martin’s boots and my Wiggy's Lamilite socks. My feet have NEVER been warmer and this was a 37 degree day, windy and damp. The socks never failed me once. Again, the best ever! I take several 3-5 thousand mile motorcycle trips from early spring to late fall. I can't wait to make my next ride outfitted in anything "Wiggy's" I can get in my hands... it adds a whole new element to the term "geared for the ride"'!

The booties- I tested them out in an odd way. I had on a thermal shirt, cargo shorts, and my Wiggy's booties. We have had 2-4 nights at 20 degrees or colder. Dressed as described, I just walked around my yard, got wood for my wood stove, and just stood outside star gazing and standing around in my yard and concrete driveway- I was out for about 45 minutes- feet toasty warm, dry, and comfortable. I never even "felt" cold at all! Performance is flawless!!

I'm 60 yrs. old, 30 years of service, recently retired USDOT Special Agent, and a USAF Service Connected Disabled Veteran of 15 years. I'm saving up to buy a pair of Wiggy's boots, a “Wiggy’s Luxurious sleeping pad", and the Wiggy's Lamilite vest.

I'm sold! I'm convinced, and am a 100% believer in Wiggy's products and have told everyone I can about how great Wiggy's products are and how I can't say enough great things about what you make. Every Wiggy's product is wonderfully made and performs as advertised. I read your commentaries word for word and enjoy and appreciate the research, testimonials, discoveries, and news of upcoming products.

Thanks again for the best products and service ever!

Continued highest regards, happy holidays to you and all.

More and more motor cyclists are using the socks.

With respect to LL Bean I did call asking to speak with the man interviewed for the article knowing that my socks would be beneficial as well as my insulation for future use. That was two weeks ago and I have not heard back which I suspected.

Years ago a very good friend of mine who contract manufactured outerwear for them was visiting Freeport and asked why they do not give me a chance as a supplier. As he told me they at LL Bean look at Wiggy’s as a cult producer. Today they cannot buy my bags because I will not sell them as I will not sell REI or any other retailer since I sell more bags that retail over $100.00 than all of them combined. Let’s end with I do not need them.

NOW TO FINALLY BREAK DOWN THE MYSTICISM OF WATERPROOF BREATHABLE

The nylon used for outerwear that is laminated to Teflon film from every company such as Gore and eVent as well as the Sympatex from Germany or the film used by Columbia Sportswear and the 25 or so other companies that make the same claim is an inanimate material, all of the films are also inanimate.

Each of these materials are vapor permeable, which means air or gas such as moist vapor can very easily pass through the fabric by going through the spaces between the yarns. Now if you are wearing a jacket made from this nylon fabric on a rainy day the rain water will easily pass through the fabric demonstrating that it is definitely not waterproof. The fact that the fabric is vapor permeable it is not capable of breathing because it is inanimate.

The various films are independently vapor permeable; Gore in the early years advertised that their material Teflon film had 9 billion holes per square inch. I always wondered who counted them. The Teflon film is very tender so you really could not make a jacket using it but if you could you would find that it will act in the rain just like the nylon, so it is not waterproof. It too is vapor permeable but it is not capable of breathing because it too is inanimate.

If you put an adhesive on the nylon in a pattern of 144 small dots per square inch and then lay on it the Teflon film and then put pressure and heat on the two fabrics until the adhesive has dried and the two fabrics are stuck together you have what is represented as a waterproof breathable entity.

I know that all of the animal world whether it is land animals to include humans, water animals, insects and all plant life they all breath and they are all waterproof. And when every species reproduces the off spring are exactly like the parents; they are waterproof and they breathe. This is an undeniable fact. To the best of my knowledge there is a fluid involved in the process of all land animals and water life. Maybe Bobby Gore and his father Bill decided since there is liquid involved a miracle happens and when the adhesive dries the new product is capable of breathing and is now waterproof. It is no longer inanimate. This is what I call mysticism.

In reality we know that the adhesive has clogged most of the 9 billion holes and most of the spaces between the yarns so allowing the vapor to move through the combined fabric has been reduced by 90 percent. As for waterproofness we also know that water does pass through whatever spaces still exist when it rains.

Man can make a waterproof and breathable entity and it is called offspring, otherwise man cannot make inanimate materials that can breathable (vapor permeable) and be waterproof at the same time.

Back in the late 1800’s there were men travelling around the country selling mixtures that were supposed to heal virtually any ailment you had. These men became known as snake oil salesman, do you see a difference; I do not! People who bought these concoctions received nothing of value for the money they gave the snake oil salesman. I haven’t done the research but I believe the government put an end to them. As far as I am concerned anyone who happens to buy a garment sold as being waterproof and breathable is not getting value for what is being purchased because these garments do not, never have and will never work as advertised, a snake oil salesman is a snake oil salesman regardless of the product. The government agency that deals with TRUTH in advertising should investigate and tell the consumer protection agency to join in.
