WORD OF MOUTH PROMOTION

Jerry,

My name is Victor Hunt and I just wanted you to know I received your Hunters Super Lite rectangular bag with hood I ordered for my son's birthday. First, I received it within days after ordering. Great service. Second, what a bag! Excellent construction. My son is a big man and just feels claustrophobic in a mummy bag so, thought this bag would suit him. Well, I just had to get in the thing and I did. Jerry, this is a bag he will love and no more cold nights with inferior bags. He'll know what I've been screaming to everyone for years now. Get Wiggy’s!!! Many thanks Jerry.

Jerry,

First a Thank you.

Since I like your sleeping bags so much. I asked for a Coat for Christmas, Urban Ducksback Antarctic Parka in Tan. Your commentary on jacket size was VERY timely.

And now for the Complaints ...

First, Your staff shipped the coat too fast! My wife's order showed up before she was expecting and I found the box. How there is a coat sized, Christmas wrapped box under the tree for me. I KNOW IT'S IN THERE! I know it and I WANT IT... Want it bad. Do you know the mental anguish this it causing me? I have gotten used to instant gratification, this hurt.

Second, Your sleeping bag ratings are truthful. Why would you do that? The confusion you create in the outdoor equipment market by being honest in the face of "Marketing" lies has caused me some personal "difficulties". The story starts with camping / hiking. In 2017, I enjoyed a 70~80-mile trek at the Philmont Boy Scout Ranch. (Before the fire.) Philmont recommend a 20-degree bag. I am a big guy who like to roll and hates the tight mummy bags. So when I asked you, you recommend a Long Wide. Unfortunately, I didn't ask about temperature rating. I bought a Super Light, MARPAT of course, with a Zero deg rating. That was a mistake. The temp we saw on the trip was a low of 32 deg F. Philmont recommend the 20 Deg bag, because of the Marketing lies. I bought a Zero deg bag to be comfortable 20, because of the Marketing again. Only after using the bag did I realize I could get 8 hours of comfortable sleep down to -10 deg F. This all means that on a mid-30's night, I'm in a bag for -10. To say I was hot was an understatement. But I know how to regulate my temperature in a bag. I stick a body part out until it's gets cold then which to another body part. Sticking my legs out worked well, but I found that sticking by backside out worked better. Therein lays the problem. My tent mate was NOT amused. This particular dad wanted to wake up to the glorious sunshine of a morning in the mountains. What he got was a full moon. We are still friends, but it was a close thing. One of the Scouts, after laughing so hard he fell off his seat, recommended I sleep on the other side of the tent. So my right-hand zipper was against the tent side. Sometimes those damn kids are smart.

Semper Fi,

Aaron

P.S. The above is all true, and yet my tongue is planted firmly in my cheek.

Today I have received a number of orders and almost all have been from people who know someone who has served in the military or is currently serving who has been issued or purchased out of his own pocket one of my bags. in all cases these military people have the Super Light FTRSS. I also noted that of all the videos I have made the one about the two-bag system is so far the most viewed. It has been on the web site for two years.

Considering that the burning of the sleeping bags has been on the web site since November 18 and it has over 1000 views and the new video showing the B-52 survival kit being on the site since Tuesday December 10 with over 400 views each of these videos will probably surpass all of the videos in a shorter amount of time.

I am very appreciative of all who take the time to view my videos which are of an educational nature more so than a sales nature. I believe the more you know about the components and why I do what I do in the fabricating of my products the more apt one is to buy them.

FUTURE LIGHT FOR THE RICH AND FAMOUS

The north face company has available online at this moment their line of “future light” jackets. Of course they are spouting out how great their fabric is versus fabrics laminated to the ptfe film such as goretex. The future light fabric is much more breathable and also waterproof. Again no one at the north face company would ever admit to the fact that such a combination of materials no matter how they are constructed has both characteristics.

In their promotional literature that is online they show a young woman and state thy “you do not have to remove layers” because all of your moisture will get out of garment. The lying continues about a material composite that can do such a thing.

What I suspected was the cost of these garments being in the range of what the rich and famous will spend their money on. The least expensive garment was a very plain jacket for $169.95. Then they show series of not so plain jackets that range from a low of $529.00 to $649.00. Every garment has the north face name or logo embroidered on the front and back, so you automatically become a billboard for them and all who see you can become jealous that they do not have one of these jackets. Of course the rich and famous aren’t going to be out long enough for the miraculous ability of these jackets to work as breathable waterproof products, and when the truth is known they don’t care so long as they look good.

Keep in mind that north face company has not stopped using the goretex because they probably know their future light is so expensive sales will be minimal.

I will be doing a video explaining why the w/b products will most likely be around for a very long time in spite of the real fact that such an entity does not exist.

LETTERS

As you know I enjoy receiving them and always want to publish them.

And finally the shingles is showing significant signs of healing. I do hope the healing will be complete in the next week or so.
