BAGS USED IN OUTDOOR PROGRAMS

A WORD TO THE WISE WHO RUN OUTDOOR OR ADJUDICATED KID PROGRAM.

I have been using Wiggy’s Ultima Thule -20 sleeping bags for the past 20 years for an adventure program at a boarding school in Maine .

Here’s why I won’t use anything else: :

• They last forever. Most, if not all, of the bags we purchased 20 years ago are still in service. From the heavy duty zippers to the easily repairable fabric, these bags take a beating and will provide years of service.

• They are warm. It gets cold in Maine in the winter. Kids need to be warm when they sleep. These bags do their job when temps hit below 0.

• They are warm even when wet and abused by novice campers who don’t take very good care of their gear.

• Can’t beat the value. These bags at this price point, will last a long time at a high level of service.

• Proudly American made from American materials right here in the USA.

• Helluva salesman. The owner of the company will get on the phone with you to help you select the right product for you. You just don’t get that at other companies.

Rich called to order more bags and after he told me how many years, he has been using them I asked if he would send me a note explaining his experience. This is the first time someone from an outdoor program at my request has written a testimonial. He was delighted to do it.

Over the years I have sold bags to the adjudicated kid programs and many still use Wiggy’s and some have no concern for their students and because they can get the “no sleep sleeping bags variety” for a lower cost that is what they give them. The managers of those companies are only concerned with their bottom lines. Pathetic!!!

Unfortunately the managers of these companies just don’t know or get it, these kids especially girls DO NOT have muscle mass the creator of heat in the human body so the get cold in these bags faster than the boys who also do not have much muscle mass so they too ultimately get cold.

The parents of these kids should ask about the sleeping bags that the company uses. If they are not Wiggy’s made in America regardless of brand name these “no sleep sleeping bags” are made in Asia mostly China.

If the kids are cold, they do not sleep and justifiably say they want to go home. If they are cold the first night, they already know they are going to be cold the second night.

I proudly state when you go camping and what to be warm in your sleeping bag all night; you want to be in the proper temperature rated sleeping bag made by WIGGY’S INC.
